One of the funniest dance music video of all times .

The cult of scientology is everywhere it seems.

kittinSol -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 2:44:02 PM)

Spike Jonze directed it (of Being John Malkovich fame).

MistressPav -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 2:50:35 PM)

The music of Enigma is, and will always be, my favorite Trance Music.

To me, the definition of "Trance Music" is....
"Any song that induces a state of meditation and/or causes you to think about, or solely focus on, one particular action or reaction." -----An exerpt from Mistress Pav's Book of Kink (c) 2005

Moloch -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 2:59:58 PM)

Go to you tube type in Infected Mushroom, good trance/Goa band...

It didn't seem very directed.[8|]

I totally agree.  Also, check out Robert Miles for some really good trance music.

Argh, that was the point of it, to look amateurish, argh.

Raechard -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 3:08:49 PM)

Yes they are very clever them directors, I tried this with friends in Bluewater but we looked far too professional with our leg splits and back flip vaulting.

meatcleaver -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 3:21:23 PM)

What is trance music?

In a word......NOISE!

OK, I admit it, I'm old and past it.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 3:40:52 PM)

two classic amazing trance songs from Paul Oakenfold album Tranceport

5. Someone (Slacker and Original Vocal Mix)- Ascension

10. Gamemaster (Original Mix)- Lost Tribe

bipolarber -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 4:40:17 PM)

See? I KNEW if I listed a couple of "bad examples" people would jump on me and start listing the good stuff. (Trance really isn't my thing, as you've probably guessed.) I'm more into New Age/ Space Ambient. More "floaty" stuff that is supportinve of the kind of slow, sensuous scenes that I prefer.
Steve Roach
Michael Stearns
Imien Bhattia
Tangerine Dream
Etc.

sblady -> RE: What is "Trance Music?" (4/5/2008 4:53:18 PM)

My definition of Trance music is New Age techno.  I love it as it was interspersed in the track played during my first "real scene".   One song in particular by VA states "be my slave" over and over.  What a great trigger while being caned, flogged, whatever.   [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m9.gif[/image] We have a great mixture of Gala/Gregorian chants, VA/Trance, Enigma and Era.   I also listen to these cd's at work because I tend to reminisce a bit and it can make for a totally relaxing, calm, tingly day. Trance is an offchoot of Techno, Popye. It's steady rythums are calculated to put the listener into an ecstatic, trance-like state... sort of a hypnotic/dance beat. Cool stuff really, and great for public scening and play parties.

Aphex Twin
Chemical Brothers
Black Tape For a Blue Girl

A couple of good examples.

bipoler, you mean I could play this stuff and use it to get chicks to do things they wouldn't ordinarily do?[:D]

Aye those were the days, I wasn't there but they were the days apparently.

Routine is what life makes of us.

I would classify Orqesta Kache as trance myself; it always puts me to sleep.
Yep Britney spears is trance
Yep Rhianna is trance
Yep bla bla etc.

The Sixties were The Days.

Popeye, no it's not the music that does it....It's the ecstasy, and trance music is only tolerable if you have taken ecstacy (not that I would know [sm=angel.gif]).  But yeah, chicks on ecstasy dig it.

What did one deadhead say to the other when they ran out of dope at a Grateful Dead show?

"This music sucks!"
