Shawn1066 -> My First Car Wreck (4/4/2008 5:58:07 PM)

So, I was driving over to my Owner's place today after work.  It's a rainy day here in Nashville, so I was being extra cautious.  Then, I notice an 18 Wheeler kind of swerve a bit in front of me.  I decellerated slightly, and then I hear this loud crash.  I felt the impact at probably the same time, and my car was propelled foward and I hit the tail end of the truck in front of me.  I won't share the first thing that went through my head, but the second thing that went through my head was to pull over to the side of the road, which I was actually able to do.  By this point, I was in total fight/flight adrenaline laced mode, and I was handling things with a remarkable amount of calmness.  I got out of the car, and then I turned to see what, exactly, had hit me.   I saw this black car, and its front in was totaled beyond recognition.  So, my first instinct was to try to help the person out.  I ran as fast as I could and checked on the gentleman who'd rammed into me.  He spoke a little English, mostly a Spanish speaker, but I was able to make sure he was Ok.

There wasn't a scratch on him.  I asked him if he was alright several times, and he was able to respond.  He quickly got on his cellphone and started talking with somebody else in Spanish.

Then I ran up to see the guy who drove the 18 wheeler.  Just to get his side of things.  He was, um, entirely unamazed by the situation.  Well, after he made sure I was OK.

As we were talking, we saw the other guy go behind his car, take off the license plate, and run off.

So yes, my first(hopefully last) car accident was a hit and run.  The cops figure the guy was either an illegal, or possibly had warrents on him.  I handled everything pretty well, I think.  I wasn't scared at all...until I looked at my car.  The entire time I hadn't really looked at it.

Um, it's been in better shape.

That was the moment I came back down to Earth, and my legs started getting wobbly.  Luckily, I'm at my Owner's house in one firm piece.  My car, sadly, may not make it.  It was an interesting day, all in all.  Thought I'd share.

Car accidents are scary. Just reading your rendition got my adrenaline going. I'm glad you're okay: make sure you get plenty of rest, to minimise the aftershock.

Nashville is the absolute WORST place for driving......i am glad you're ok. Ruins the weekend...but as you said you're in "one firm piece".   Sadly, in my work, i've seen the not so lucky ones.  Count your blessings....

Yeah, I'm on orders to relax until my Owner can get out of work.  She could take a little while off to drive me here, but I still have to wait for her to get in.

The whole kicker to this is the fact I'm terrified of 18 Wheelers, because my mother was in a really, really bad one a few years back.  I don't think I should be as scared of them as I should be of the random crazies driving everywhere else. :-p

I'm very glad I wasn't hurt.  Somewhere between being hit from behind and actually hitting the 18 Wheeler, I really thought I'd never get to see my Owner, or the rest of my family, ever again.  Which would have sucked, because my Owner has a surprise for later tonight and Sister expects me to be home to watch movies with her tomorrow.

Take some Tylenol and try to relax.  You'll probably be a little sore and stiff ([:)]) tomorrow.  Glad you weren't seriously hurt.  Cars can be fixed or replaced.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: My First Car Wreck (4/4/2008 6:11:55 PM)

I was in a minor collision on sunday. It was my fault too! Plus I cant afford to get bodywork on my car. So the dents stay/I have liability only. So anyhoo, Yours sounds more serious and dangerous and I am thankful that you are all right.

I'm sorry to hear that.  I have liability only as well, but since the liable party has run for the hills...  I may have lack of car for a while.

Dear Shawn,

I am tremendously glad that you are all right, minus the shake up and insanity of it all.  Bless your heart, sweetie.  And do take care and listen to dear DV, both of you need a little TLC these days.

Hugs and well wishes,
DRH

or new york!

Fox, glad you're ok, take it easy and relax as much as possible, maybe even a hot shower to help soothe muscles that will most likely be sore tomorrow.  good luck, maybe the idiot who ran actually owns the car and has insurance, he's just afraid of getting caught.  yeah, i know fantasy.

I was in a situation where I was sitting in traffic and I could hear a commotion of noise from behind. A cascade of screeching tires and crashing, scraping metal. I wanted to get out of there but there was no escape and I knew the whole mess of momentum would soon be upon me. A flash of red in the corner of my eye just before my head is thrown backwards and sideward into the doorframe behind me. Actually my head didn't move an inch but the car had moved around me and left me head slightly behind as the car was shunted forward.

I was able to walk away from that accident but if the car had hit me 1m further forward my legs would have been crushed.[8|]

We get woken up from the routine of life every so often Mr Shawn, I'm glad you are ok.

What i am proud of is that it did not affect my submission. I was at Sir's an hour and a half after it happened. I woke him up in a prearranged way. i crawled into bed with him and gave him a BJ. I did not tell him about the accident until well after I had finished my task. He had no idea.

Don't let your nerves affect your submission and keep the negative drama away from you Mistress. This is something to strive for. easier for me now at my age than when i was your age. For you its likely all drama as you are probably experiencing alot of things for the first time.

celticlord2112 -> RE: My First Car Wreck (4/4/2008 6:27:19 PM)

Glad to hear you're mostly ok.  Kudos for checking on the other driver.

I do hope your Owner takes you to a doctor or the ER for a checkup.  Adrenaline does a lot of things, including obscuring pain and injury.

Don't assume you're ok.  Make sure of it.  A small injury now left untreated can be quite debilitating later on.

puppy4owner -> RE: My First Car Wreck (4/4/2008 6:31:31 PM)

glad you are ok.it makes one wonder
my only wreck-going 75 in the fast lane of the 405 in LA without seat belt, saw some brakelights to the right so i covered the brakes, then a SPINNING car slammed into my front right bumper,i smashed onto the brake, did a 360 and skidded across 5 lanes as it seemed a car broke to a halt in each lane as i went by and stopped on the right shoulder, completely uninjured but couldnt move for ten minutes-the guy in the spinning car(he hit 5 cars total)got out before i did. I believe i have a guardian angel so to speak-i should have been hurt-it was a honda crv-and its not the first time.Perhaps you do too.

Shawn1066 -> RE: My First Car Wreck (4/4/2008 6:43:39 PM)

I thank everybody for your concerns, before I take a bath to relax.  As far as I know, I got out of this entirely unscathed.  Not a scratch, bruise, or anything on me.  My mind seems to be working alright, aside from the fact I'm still kind of jumpy.  Though, my Owner and I will most certainly keep tabs on things.  I'm extremely lucky, since my airbag didn't go off.  Some good that was.  But I didn't suffer any kind of blows to my head or anything.

In response to Lucious, I don't plan on having this affecting my Owner negatively, aside from needing a bit more cuddles than normal.  One can hardly call that negative, though.  I'm actually plan to have dinner ready for her when she gets home, and it'll be my first time doing so.  I'm going into super housewife mode. :-p

I'll worry about school/work tomorrow, since at least this all happened on a Friday.  I have two days to figure that all out.

I do not really think that telling them about the accident is drauma. Nor is shareing how you feel or anything that comes out of the accident. I do not recomend keeping anything from your Dominant. We in our relationship believe in shareing what we're feeling good bad or neutral.

My dominant would of been angry with me for not letting him know right away something had happend.  His first concern would of been that am I ok, not that I woke him up in the way he usualy expected. And further more he would of been unhappy with me for me, not him deciding what was important to tell him and what could wait.

glad to hear you are ok. I nearly got wiped out today and it took a long time to calm down. then my Boss wasn't happy with me today. All in all a crappy day.

Make sure you are ok, see a Dr if you get stiff and sore, any pain or your temp goes up.

hugs to you and glad you are in one piece..

domahpet -> RE: My First Car Wreck (4/4/2008 8:32:32 PM)

Fox, i dont know if this will matter in your state, but it sure does here.
taking off that licanse plate isnt going to do to the owner of that car any good
because the car has an ID number on the body, engine, and transmission.

im really happy your ok, and im sure youll get all the extra snuggles you need.
just be gentle with yourself this weekend!
