I was going through the news and found this interesting little bit. It has a few other little survey factoids tucked in it also. I had to stop and think how many I go through a year. I think I am somewhere around 4-6 pairs annually.

I hardly ever buy any. Surprise, surprise  . (If I wear trainers, it's for fashion purposes, so I go for the 'old skool' type, not the yacht shaped monstrosities that look like baby contraptions.)

ditto

Also I'm the boring type that always buys Reebok Classic in black because I know they fit. I hate my trainers to look too complicated and they should weigh more than my big toe.

I buy multiples at an outlet store I like: Hi-Tec.

I don't think it means anything: correlative data is not evidence of a causal relationship.

Running shoes, about two pair a year. Used to go through a lot more, but I don't run much anymore. For everyday and work, I'm a "Born" man. They are so comfortable and made so well they last a looooong time. Worth every penny, imo.

I buy sneakers probably every other year or so. Lately it's been hard to find a replacment for my current ones.

I buy the "Roebuck Classic" in black.
This pair that I use to go to the gym on the treadmill and walks etc is about 7 years old and the fuckers just won't wear out!
I think I paid $26 for them.
I have a pair of "Wolverine" hiking boots that just will not wear out too.
Those are a little "expensive" at $129 but very comfortable.

I've got a pair of Adidas for workouts, and a pair of classic black Converse that I've had since 10th grade.  They are seriously some of the nastiest, most worn-out sneakers you'll ever see, but they're comfortable and I love them.  So I don't buy sneakers that often...

But every time I leave the house I usually come back with one or two new pairs of heels, I wonder what that says about me?    My count's up to 40+ pairs of shoes and I can't fit them all in my closet.

I've never owned any. I wear wooden clogs when I work and Dr Martins when I go out.

I own one pair of running shoes that a friend gave me almost two years ago. I think I've worn them twice. I wear my fashion-y kicks all the time, though. Skate shoes, Dunks, retro shoes, Court Forces...I'm a sneaker whore.

Sneakers, I buy when they wear out.  I can wear them most all the time, unless going out somewhere.
To work...around home.  An average pair lasts me anywhere from 3-4 months before the treads wear off the bottom.

Only thing I care about name wise is all white.  Whether it be Nike, Reabok..or what have you.

I have to buy about 3 pair a year.
They don't fall apart, but if you exercise by walking or running, the cushion gives out quite easilly.
I forget how often you're supposed to trade them in, but if you walk or run a lot, you will notice a big difference if you don't.

I generally buy 1-2 pair of sneaks a year; my shoe of choice is these:

They are durable, washable and very comfortable.

Puma for me. I have several pairs, including some i got in the US, for a quarter of the price i pay in the UK. I have one pair thought that i have had 4 years and they fit like slippers and are not too worn out.

Even if you are just on your feet alot. After one awful bout with plantar fasciitis, I will never take my feet for granted again. I keep them clad in good quality, relatively new sneakers so that I can keep hiking and doing my thing.
