camille65 -> Craigs list questions (4/2/2008 8:59:05 AM)

Heya I just did my first ads on Craigs list for some furniture and I can't figure stuff out. When someone is interested and sends me an email, it lands in my hotmail. Am I supposed to reply to them from my hotmail? Also I can't find one of my ads. (le sigh) I feel stoooopid.

Yes, and at that point you are no longer anonymous to them, so keep that in mind.

Also, if you get someone anxious to mail you "certified funds" in an amount more than the asking price, beware of that particular scam (where you send them change and the certified check turns out to be a forgery).

If you can't find one of your ads, it might just have been FLAGGED by the trolls that have nothing better to do than "flag" ads to have them removed. Not that one troll can do that, it takes multiple trolls to flag one ad before it's removed. You can also go to the main site, click on Help and chose resend. It'll resend all your posts to your email.

My pleasure!  You can always answer them from the "created" email. Never too late to hide your identity BEFOREHAND :))

It might seem odd for you at first but remember in this instance that it is not a requirement to send tit and gash shots back to them.

I have to say be careful about using the Craigs list.  It is monitored by government.  The reason is as one here in California found it, is to come up with accusation of some violation of the law and make you pay a fines.  A Landlord here listed a place in Craig List, and is now fighting the Faire Housing Department for "Possible" Discrimination.  They are trying to make the guy pay a $4,000.00 fine and spend 5 years attending classes on how to be a good land lord, at his expense.

BlueEyedSubinDE -> RE: Craigs list questions (4/2/2008 8:24:22 PM)

I put a camera up on Craigs list and almost immediately got a response from a scammer.  I still have the emails, if you want to see them, let me know and I will send them to you.  One thing I noticed immediately when it is a scammer is that they never mention what you are selling, it is referred to as "the item".

xxblushesxx -> RE: Craigs list questions (4/2/2008 8:37:05 PM)

If they ask if you 'still have the item', and is 'the item' still in good condition, and mention that some employee or associate of yours will be picking it up, or delivering the check, and oh...by the way...the check is for more than the item is worth, and please send them the remainder because...blah blah blah....

Don't do it!!!
