Semos -> Has a Domm(e) ever been in space (3/27/2008 3:12:04 PM)

This is somewhat of a rhetorical question as I have experienced this 6 times and once where both of us had gone into space, so there is no doubt in my mind of the possibility. As the activity was intrinsically tied to music I often wonder if it hadn't been or the song was longer what the result would have been as I did have bruising, small lacerations and a fat lip.

1. As a Domm(e), have you experienced space while playing?

2. If so, do you think you would be aware of any safety mechanism, such as safe word or gesture.

My interest in this particular aspect was spawned by a previous post that asked the question, "If you detect space do you stop", but if you as the Domm(e) are also in space?

I absolutely belive I have been in space - a total state of euphoria...but I am fully confident that I would snap out of it should I hear a safeword as I am a stickler for safety.

1.  Yes.

2.  Absolutely.

Okay, I read the title of this as has a dom ever been an ASTRONAUT.......[8|]

Yes, it's been a long day.

That's what I thought.  I was afraid it was some kind of kink I'd never heard of.

Focus50 -> RE: Has a Domm(e) ever been in space (3/28/2008 2:01:11 AM)

1.  Yep, most refer to it as top-space - see LA's links....

2.  It doesn't work the same as sub-space - there are NO safety issues because I can only go there and stay there while the girl is floating happily in sub-space.  If she becomes distressed, even slightly, it becomes a trigger for me to act.

I have no idea where a sub actually goes while "under" but I know exactly where my mind goes in top-space - it's focused entirely on her and to such an extent that time becomes irrelevant.  IE, hours seemingly pass in a minute or two....

Focus.

I'm sure Neil Armstrong was quite the assertive type, at the very least.

MaamJay -> RE: Has a Domm(e) ever been in space (3/28/2008 6:55:15 AM)

As someone who is both Domme and sub ... I have been in both types of space but at different times. For M/me [;)] ... they are different. Deep subspace is very floaty ... unaware of surroundings. Top space is very highly focused, very alert to My sub ... not alert to time or other people around etc. In My numerical descriptions of space, deep space 9 is deep subspace, whereas that alert state is about 5. I've never gone deeper than that in Top space, I think I would be holding Myself back because I am incredibly aware of the responsibility I hold as a Top. About the only time I'm a bit more relaxed as a Top is after the scene is ended, during the aftercare, because I get high on the bond, the connection. But even then, care for My sub is My priority.

When I saw him, he seemed like he prefered to avoid attention actually...

SteelofUtah -> RE: Has a Domm(e) ever been in space (3/28/2008 10:27:07 PM)

I knew a Dom who worked for NASA and for Lockheed Martin does that count?

No I have never reached TOP Space or DOM Space because I don't find the Mixture of Dopamine and Seratonin loss to reach the same levels as a sub gets too. Pain causes the Dopamine drop and well Tops aren't usually feeling pain. The Uphoria can be attributed to the Accelerated Heart rate from the antisipation and completion of the act but still It isn't enough to cause a full Dopamine Uphoric Episode or what is usually refered to as "subspace"

Anyway that's how I understand it I am by no means a Doctor.
