That was an interesting interpretation.
I have always found 'The King and I'(Anna and the King) to be an interesting and thoughtful Ds relationship myself.

I don't know if was really D/s, but this dialogue kind of fits.

"That's the one good thing about Paris: there's a lot of girls willing to take their clothes off." Jack in Titanic.

My Fair Lady has always been one of my favorites, but I have to agree.....your version would be a hit and tops on my viewing lists!
Let's not forget "The Quiet Man"......"Woman of the house.............", who was he kidding? We all know that if he brought out the leather cuffs the moment he threw her on the bed, things would have ended completly different!

So many to choose from...........

*pondering*

when is it D/s and when is it simply outdated gender stereotypes?

Edits to mention
Batman -
Joker and Harly = M/s
Catwoman and Ivy - Both Domme
Batman and Batgirl  - Daddy/girl
Batman and Robin - Dom/pet

Starwars -
Princess Leia - deff Domme tendancies in there

All about Eve
Bette Davis, enough said

A fun idea.

But I agree with the poster who brought up "Taming of the Shrew." I do a lot of theatre, and I keep having this terrible, terrible thought, of art directing it so that Petruchio is a leatherman, (complete with singletail) and his household is the best equipped dungeon space in all of Padua... I keep thinking of Kat being dressed in the final act in a latex cat suit. Literally, he has tamed her, "and made her conformable with other, household, Kates."

But maybe that's just me.

Anybody else for "The Sound of Music"?  The Captain...his sense of honor and integrity...not to mention his riding crop...*fanning myself a little*.  And Maria- first struggling with her submission to the Church; and later with deference to her soon to be hubby...

Yep...definitely does it for me.

Most definitely with you on the Quiet Man, CarrieO; I remember having it set off the alarm bells on first viewing and it still resides in the viddy archives over here. I found it extremely amusing because Wayne, like myself, was essentially drafted into the role. That Maureen O'Hara was one heck of a switch.

It was a real cornball comedy, but "9 to 5",with the 3 secretaries imprisoning their boss in some pretty wild bondage gear was kinda hot

O'Hara reminded me of Scarlett, Gone with the Wind - Total  brat to Rett, there are some real D/s lines in there with Rett telling her to keep her door unlocked etc.

Lots of movies from the 40's. 50's and 60's. Every time A man slapped an irate women so she could get a hold of herself and then she falls listless and crying in his arms. I have always found most roles that Audrey Hepburn did were quite submissive in nature. Doris Day too. Strong Submissives.

Now i have got to check out "My Fair Lady"...hmmmm....interesting, and yeah, i've been living under a rock and have never seen it.

Another one with a bit of D/s undertones is "Educating Rita" which i totally dug.....very interesting interactions between them and the whole "teachery" thing fits in my personal dynamic.

Now, i'm gonna go watch "the Secretary" for the umteenth time.

Yeah, I remember as a child, my parents watching The Quiet Man with us and my Mom would go all soft and silly...never understood until now.  Ah geez guys.....get a room!!!!
The list could go on and on. Like someone said, look to the older movies from the 30's, 40's and 50's.  Another of my favorites would be "Gigi". Not complete D/s but ....she's trained to be the proper your woman for Gaston. From the clothing to manners to , for goodness sake, cigars.  In the end, although she tries to submit, she finds her need for 24/7 and love wins out over all else.  Would this make her a slave....no. An independent submissive....of course.
These gender roles are never out-dated....just ask a woman who likes alpha-men.

btw....I would identify with Gigi, an independent submissive.

Ok, I totally dont see how thats D/s not at all really, maybe thats just me, caine is a mess in that film, its all about the pathetic desire to be something you arent and the realisation that actually everything is shit just a differant kind of shit, they were both flailing about clueless.

Well, apparently the rock I was living under was bigger than I thought. Just watched it, and it's really good! It cracked me up enough to mention that, there's a line somewhere in the movie where Higgins (the Dominant) mentions how women only ever do simple, stupid things, like fix their hair. At the very moment he said that, I happened to be fingercombing my hair and pondering on the fact that every single word out of his mouth was ridiculously true...at least some of the time. Anywho, made me giggle a little.

Awesome interpretation!
