quote:

"I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."
--Hillary Clinton, speech at George Washington University, March 17, 2008.

As noted in the above story, Hillary was telling a tall tale.  In typical Clintonian fashion, she is trying to stick to the story.  Yes, we all know politicians lie.  But claiming a war experience is beyond scummy.  It's absolutely low down, and it takes away from people that have actually had to live through harrowing experiences like this.

quote:

The mistakes in Iraq are not the responsibility of our men and women in uniform but of their Commander-in-Chief. From the decision to rush to war without allowing the weapons inspectors to finish their work or waiting for diplomacy to run its course. To the failure to send enough troops and provide proper equipment for them. To the denial of the existence of a rising insurgency and the failure to adjust the military strategy. To the continued support for a government unwilling to make the necessary political compromises. The command decisions were rooted in politics and ideology, heedless of sound strategy and common sense.

Nice quote, where ever you got it from.  But, it's completely unrelated to this thread.  Nice hijack attempt though Fargle.

It is definitely piss poor politicking.  I stop short of calling Clintonian only because Obama is guilty of an equally outrageous exaggeration on his Campaign website.  As I pointed out in a previous thread, Obama claimed a level of political courage for his opposition to a war in Iraq that is at odds with the reality of his political career (he did not risk his career to speak out against the war in Iraq).

*Edit*

Have no idea where F's quote came from actually...

It's things like this that make me entirely uncertain as to who to vote for. Blah

SugarMyChurro -> RE: Hillary's Balkan Adventure.... (3/24/2008 8:12:56 PM)

Vote Republican. That's where the fault lies so let them have it.

I think everyone wants to lose this election so that's why the choosing is getting harder.

christine1 -> RE: Hillary's Balkan Adventure.... (3/24/2008 8:29:51 PM)

 total fault doesn't lie with either party exclusively...both parties have major problems at the moment.

awmslave -> RE: Hillary's Balkan Adventure.... (3/24/2008 8:31:00 PM)

The Clintons have been under fire most of the time: evil republican conspiracy, bimbos attacking Bill's cock etc...Bosnian snipers: not a big deal to compare.

Nosathro -> RE: Hillary's Balkan Adventure.... (3/24/2008 9:21:30 PM)

A recent article states that the Hillarys Campain calls it a "Misspoke" (I have never heard that word before.  She is to have stated herself that it was a "misstatement" and a "minor blip".  Remember she was trying to show us her experience in Foreign Affairs.  Also with the recent releast of her diaries it shows she was very inactive in many areas that she claimed to be envolved.

Yes this is just another Clinton lie, and all politicians do lie.  One thing that has come back to hunt McCain is that he is the only Senator still active that was involved in the Saving and Loan Scandal.  He along with 4 other Senators took money from the Owner of a Saving and Loan that was under Federal Investigation.  In turn for the money they used their office to block the investigation.  The Saving and Loan failed, the guy was convicted of fraud and misuse of funds.  The Senators, all of them stated they were only helping a constituent, the guy was a resident of Arizona, none of them represented that State.

Yes I read it, and I didn't see that quote anywhere in it.  Of course I don't read the reader's comments at the bottom.  Anytime a negative story about Hillary is written, someone on news sites has to chime in about Bush and Iraq.  Some people just can't seem to grasp the concept that others might find Bush and Hillary to both be lying douchebags.

Anderson Cooper 360 just went over that quote,she said she mispoke.This trip was so dangerous they sent her daughter and Sinbad the comedian as added security.Who takes their daughter to a combat zone.When they tell you to wear flak jackets and move quickly because of snipers isn't that the point when you decide to leave your only child home

Well, if you actually READ the story, you see it's QUOTING A SPEECH SHE MADE. In fact, they provide a link to it.

"I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."
--Hillary Clinton, speech at George Washington University, March 17, 2008. "

And when you read the ACTUAL SPEECH the report is about, you learn all sorts of interesting facts. You didn't just take Blog at face value without verifying it's claims?

Fact is, she's a Carpetbagging Cunt, and I'd LOVE to see her the fuck out of our Senate seat. That aside, all this bullshit about Clinton lying is stupid. Bush and Cheney are REAL CRIMINALS AT LARGE. Let's not forget about that.

Mercnbeth -> RE: Hillary's Balkan Adventure.... (3/25/2008 6:22:24 AM)

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BfNqhV5hg4

Her credibility problem is that she was the subject of a CBS interview during the trip. Under that "heavy sniper fire" she is seen with her daughter laughing and chatting with the troops.

What wonderful choices the major political parties have provided! A liar or a racist on one side; a corporate lackey on the other.

Nosathro -> RE: Hillary's Balkan Adventure.... (3/25/2008 9:47:07 AM)

There appears to be a new spin on Hillary, she now a Republican.  There are two news article out, one a story of how as a junior Senator she worked so well with her GOP counterparts in the Senate and a recent speech on what she would do as President to solve the Housing Mortgage Crisis.  Many of her idea were already suggusted by the GOP.  One especially was to the Mortgage Companies who loaned the money to high risk people, to protect them from lawsuits by investors and banks.  Sounds to me like she trying to get more campaign contributions.
