ORIGINAL: cjan I like Al, don't care much for Hillary, but, I'll bet you this...if Hillary found herself in the same situation Al did in 2000, a close election with the result hanging on a recount of hanging chads in Florida, she wouldn't have just rolled over, belly up with her paws in the air. She would have gone into "Terminator" mode, fighting, biting, clawing and never quitting until her very last circuit was fried. cjan, you're likely right, but I have to say, I was not happy with that whole mess; I honestly saw it as some of my fellow Dems wanting to keep juggling until they got a result they wanted. I take your point, Level, but it's not exactly new politics is it ? Remember JFK running in a dead heat with Nixon ? Chicago's Mayor Richard J. Daley, Joe Kennedy and Sam Gianncana(Chicago mob boss, ex partners with Joe during prohibition ) were in constant phone contact with Daley repeating, how many votes do you need ? The slogan in Chicago in those days was "Vote early and vote often".. JFK was later quoted in a book (who's name I can't recall, but it was a legitimate account). JFK was laughing recalling those events fondly and said his daddy Joe angrily asked him that night, "goddammit, Jack, how many votes do we need to win ? I'm not paying for a goddamn landslide !"
