So, I know a million and one ways to get blood out of clothing, de-stain, steralize, sew, and generally repair...but I'm hoping there's a trick for this I don't know.
So, if theoretically one were to notice an after-play whoopsie...
How does one get candle wax out of the carpet?

Try putting ice on it. The color may have bled, though.

Some people say to get an old rag, put it over the top, and use a warm (not hot enough to burn carpet fibers) iron, and transfer the candle wax to the rag.

Something we used for taffy the other day was freon. It freezes it up so that it becomes brittle and you can then just break it off. That worked really well.

it depends on the color of the carpet and of the wax. You can try covering it with a white towel and using a med. heat iron to remove as much of the wax as you can. From there a heavy duty carpet cleaner and alot of muscle.
When this happened to me (candle tipped over) i was lucky that it was a light wax.

The only part I can remember is heat it with a iron. I forget what they used to blot the heated wax with.

I used an iron and paper towels, worked great.

Without knowing the texture of your carpet, picking at it with a plastic rake and some twisers will get the dry wax out over a small period of time. The wax will normally slip out of the fibers. The light touch of a blow dryer may help but remember not to over do it. You're just trying to get the wax to be a little slick.

This is not a BDSM exclusive problem :-)

No worries! About.com's Guide to Stay-at-Home Parents, Barbara Whiting, has the solution:

After wax hardens, scrape up excess with a dull knife.

Place part of a paper bag over the remaining wax.

Place a warm iron over the bag and press gently.

Repeat until all the wax is transferred to the paper bag.

Replace the paper bag as needed and watch as the wax lifts right out of your carpet. This tip works great for getting rid of candle wax

I have one of those industrial-looking school-grade gray carpets. The wax is white, pretty light, so I'll see about borrowing an iron from someone and if I can't, I've got a blow dryer. Because really, what would saran-wrap be without a blow dryer?
