Oh yes indeedy, wife of John "kill all drug users" McCain  apparantly ripped off prescription meds from her own charity.

Funny how Mr. Straight and narrow divirced his wife only a few days before he married Cindy, eh? Cindy is Chair of Hensley & Co., a large distributor of Anheuser-Busch products, which are legal drugs.

This is ancient, ancient news.  As a matter of fact, it came up the LAST time McCain ran for president.

I'm just waiting for somebody to connect Kennedy's assassination and the disappearance of Amelia Earhardt to John McCain's bid for presidency... then, and only then, will the trifecta be complete...

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNN~

You know what.   I can relate.   I view this as human.

--  while  being a thief is not good. i very much can relate to back pain.

i hope she finds releif.

i think it is terrible how this society has criminlaized treatment of genuine pain sufferers- where the medical damage is documented.

it sucks.

Poor lady.

In part this is a topic I have dealt with while advocating for the ill and vets.  Addiction and dependency are not the same thing.  An addict will do anything to get their fix, someone who is dependant upon medication to cover pain so that they can actually live life will not.  An addict will lie, cheat and steal.  Someone who is dependent will not compromise themselves in such a way and will suffer instead.  Big difference.  And that difference is a personal choice in my opinion.

I am on pain medication and have been for many, many years.  I suffer daily, but I will not lie, cheat and steal to get relief, as much as I want and need that relief.  I would rather blow myself away than to dishonor myself.  It is a matter of character in my little world.

Old news may be old, but it is also a glimce into the lives and character of a person.  Do we all have something we wish wouldn't be brought to light?  You bet we all do!  But, to cover up is almost as bad as the actual deed.  Again... character.

Thanks Hippi...

Just like Michelle Obama saying "For the first time in my life, I am proud of my country."

You are welcome, Lockit. I also am on opioid pain meds - oxycontin - for chronic pain. I've been on oxycodone for over 8 years. I've got my TENS unit and I just had a series of lumbar epidurals, which I was skeptical about, but which either provided me with some pain relief or had one hell of a placebo effect. I've done a bit of research into nociception, and help moderate a small chronic pain group.

Most doctors couldn't tell you the difference between pseudoaddiction and true addiction, let alone laypersons. I'm dependent; Cindy McCain was an addict. I've been at the same level for almost 3 years. In fact, I came down about 15% back in November. It's a balancing act between pain relief, metabolism, testosterone level, and libido. It's all inter-related.

If I find my level of pain relief inadequate, I'll speak with my doctor. I won't try to scam it, steal it, or turn to the streets (although I have some very progressive ideas about pain management).

Cindy stole from her own charity and her old man tried his damnedest to cover it up. The same people who excuse her behavior seem to be screaming the loudest about Barack Obama belonging to a church where the pastor allegedly spoke some words that are "offensive" to those poor, oppressed white righties. I find that hypocritical in the extreme, particularly since his words were taken totally out of context, and some of those words were actually a quotation of a white man's words, which Faux Gnus conveniently forgot to mention, the assholes.

I'm going to keep reminding righties of their, and McCain's, two-faced double-standard hypocrisy.

Namaste
