blonde1 worked best for me.. but add some slighty darker lowlights.. more natural, IMO...

Cali suggested trying on various wigs, and I absolutely agree.  It's the best way to see what colors are truly suitable without making a drastic mistake.  I had no idea just how Morticia like I would be in raven black hair until I tried on a wig!  (much sadness, since my mom is a raven, and I wanted hair like hers!)

Stripping color from dark hair really dries it out, and dark roots?  Ghastly.  I don't think they make a person look slutty, just unkempt.  Dark root maintenance like that has to be done WEEKLY, and by someone who can actually see the roots.....and I am guessing that would be YOU?

Regarding modeling, I would see what her agent says regarding hair.  Bad color can really get in the way of work.

I agree about ghastly dark roots.. whenever I lighten my hair I become a slave to hair dye

If  you dye it like the third picture... someone's going to end up in tears

None of the above ( mean photoshop coloured hairs), she got the colour who fits her best and as many posters said she is gorgeous enough without touching her hair.
Maybe try a "tone on tone" colour( Garnier nutrisse, l'Oreal Feria), who would put some "fun and light" to her hairs.

Speak to the modeling agency or the people she usually models for, as to what look they want on her. Talk to a colorist. Mention to all of them about her getting deeply tan. Possibly even try self tanners, body makeup and then try on wigs to see how the skin and hair coloring look together.

Dark skin does not go well with very light hair.

Keep the new color in line with her eyebrow coloring. Nothing worse looking than fake blondes with heavy tans and dark eyebrows in my book.

LaTigresse -> RE: Charlotte's Hair Color (3/20/2008 11:39:50 AM)

I actually like her current hair colour best but if she is to change it, my preference from what I am seeing is more on the red side. That nasty gray blonde was horrid!

i don't want to make an assumption that you have never been in the biz before, so if you have already managed models' careers successfully, please disregard the following:

i agree that you need to speak to the venues/publications she has already modeled for in exchange for $currency. a bad color choice could kill bookings she is already being considered for. i would not take the advice of any photographers/agencies that have used her in exchange for a set of photos, etc...they are not involved in her financial interest.

i would tend to leave her as-is unless a venue/publication specifically asked for her color to be modified. this is not unusual-- they would send her to their stylist, have it cut and colored to their specifications, and depending on how drastic the change is, she would be compensated accordingly.

LadyPact -> RE: Charlotte's Hair Color (3/20/2008 12:17:34 PM)

Hello Stephan, and to your lovely girl.

Personally, I thought the fourth one was the best.  As she does get a bit more tan in the warm months, I think it will be an even better match.  The girl has those beautiful eyes, so I wouldn't suggest a harsh blond color.

You are, indeed, a lucky man.

Stephann -> RE: Charlotte's Hair Color (3/20/2008 12:23:57 PM)

Again, thank you all for the excellent suggestions.

I'm leaning towards doing a little lighter, similar to photo 1, but with reddish highlights.

As striking of a woman as she is, I just thought an adjustment to her hair might be even more dazzling.  I'll admit, I saw a girl who had (apparently naturally) platinum/white hair the other day, and thought "wow, that looks really good" as I'd thought of other types of adjustment to her hair, and thought "no, it'd look too fake for not enough splash."

Ultimately, I'll leave the final choice in the hands of a pro.  At this point, it's piecemeal work, so if there's going to be a look, we're going to probably have to make it from scratch.  I personally want her hair as long as she can grow it, so that's my fear; that it'll end up looking not-so-great with too much done to it.

I couldn't see the first one.
second and fourth were very nice.
didn't care for the last one
and the third was ...erm...hideous.

Personally, the third (blonde3) was the only one I liked...

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Charlotte's Hair Color (3/20/2008 7:46:52 PM)

I am biased here, but I will never prefer color that LOOKS dyed.  I will never prefer hair that shows roots.  I will never prefer hair that doesn't match or highlight the person's overall look.

I know that is pretty much de rigeur in the world today like visible bra straps and I don't expect anyone to agree, but it simply comes across as tacky, unkempt, and not as beautiful as the person.

For me, it should look natural and glowy, all the time.

I'm not against dye jobs in themselves, simply that the color should enhance the natural coloring in the hair/skin/eyes/body and should always be meticulously maintained.  The farther you go from the persons natural color, the harder and more frequently this must be done.  The harder and more frequently this must be done, the more the hair is damaged.  So now you not only get non-natural hair, you get sick hair.

I liked blonde3, but it was actually the fourth pic.

I concur.  I don't like the blonde shades.  They just don't look nice.  It needs to look natural, maybe some multi-tone highlights on her natural color.  Burnt, dry hair just looks nasty.
