Ok- I have a view of the river- it is rising. We love our flood wall. Do I run up the hill- or stand on the house. fi so when. argh.

stand on the roof when the waters get knee deep and appear to be not stopping anytime soon. and wear something REALLY brightly colored (layer clothing, put other clothes and all supplies in a waterproof container). Cover the bird cage and take it up.. put the dog on a leash. Take drinking water and munchies for you and the critters. Blankets. flashlights and batteries. raincoats. something soft to sit on (so your butt doesnt go numb). any meds.

Run Forrest Run! Until you get out of the flood area...then STOP FORREST! Do not rely on flood walls, New Orleans had "great" flood walls but look what happened. Dont risk being caught in the flood if it happens. If you can get out, do it. Dont wait until you need a boat to get to tha mailbox.
