I survived a sexual assault my sophomore year of college that is related to this issue.
A black man was talking to me about the movie "Glory" which I'd just seen and then he tried to touch me and when I resisted he said I was racist and if I wasn't I'd let him have sex with me. Needless to say that made me fight back even harder then I got away and called the police.
It was a very bad experience because after that for well over a year, male friends I had who happened to be black got my gut-level negative reaction. I had to work on that all because some asshole tried to use his race in his bag of tricks as a potential rapist.
By the way, yes, he did rape another woman but because I reported it they were able to stop him much sooner than they might have otherwise. Turned out he'd assault a few other women before me and if they'd been brave enough to come forward and press charges my assault and the following rape may have been avoided.
Bad people will use anything they can think of to get their way. It's not tied to race or age or religion but they will certain use them if they think they can get what they want that way.
On a non-race note, the same bloody guy keeps contacting me repeatedly on the email here. We talked like two years ago and he isn't poly and I'm not looking. So now I just ignore him when he contacts me. I'm sure at some point he'll call me a bitch but that bespeaks to his problem not to me as a person. So put that asshole on ignore, Diane, and accept our support of your limits and preferences.
