Well, you'd have to stuff someone in an MRI system first, and it's not like they're portable.

Some of the other stuff isn't practical (who's going to have electrodes implanted in their brains?)  And if you had an antenna embedded in your skull, you couldn't read the output of it at any practical distance (the voltages are very very small).

It's a blend of a bit of science and a lot of fiction.

The article was filled with a lot of ifs. I think I'd notice if I stumbled into a MRI machine or had electrodes attached to my head. The latter especially since I have shaving my head as a hard limit.
