The Democrats have a huge problem. Obama will be their nominee and he will be answering questions about his church and minister well into and up untill the November election. Rev. White just gave the election to the Republicans...

McCain won`t touch it or "go there" with this issue.

He`s got his own nutty uncle problems and doesn`t want that brought up.

Rev White will be a problem for Obama come the general election.  However, to say that Obama's fortunes hinge on this one issue is an oversimplification.  This election is not over yet, not by a long shot.

I think it is refreshing in the way Obama handles these attacks and problems... Just the way I would...lol. But you have to admit he does not get rattled easily... not in the way Clinton did when she got teary eyed.

I still think that this country is too sexist and too racist to elect either a white woman or a black man to the presidency. FWIW, especially that particular white woman. Not gonna happen.

You have to wonder, with so much supposedly on the line how is it possible that these two candidates are the best they throw at the electorate? It seems very odd to me. Like another bid at losing intentionally. Gore I liked in the main; but Kerry was a throw away candidate.

I still can't understand how golden boy John Edwards keeps getting passed over. I'd have voted for him enthusiastically.

the reverand is a non-issue.

1. much of what he says is true.
2. it is a church- church by its very function is not science-so a science argument doesnt fit.
3. the presumption is that we could never learn from this paster.
4.  a minute of the serman cant be the contect of an 80 minute sermon.
5. the protestants broke from the catholics.
6. a church is not scientific fact.
7. if Obama was too anglo- he would be criticised.

all of this leads me to want to find a church like his.  a church were it is an experience, passionate.

catholics dissed the jews, protestants dissed the catholics, who were both dised by babtists- who were dissed by johova wiatnesses.....who are not jews- who dont get along with arabs.... so no one gets along with everyone.  thats life.

I believe McCain will win as well.  It may not be for the good of the country but he will win.
I've just decided to write in a candidate when I vote.  Of course it will be throwing my vote away but at least I know I will be voting for someone I believe in.

If a candidate looses an election over something as trivial and irrelevant as what the pastor of the church he goes to said... then there truly is no hope for America.

i'm going to write in Hugh Heffner, he seems to have a good handle on the mansion and all its inhabitants.  or maybe i'll write in Larry Tate, he was a man before his time.

...agreed, and also if anyone loses an election because the military don't like 'em.

He doesnt have too.... thanks to 527's. They can put up Rev. Wright screaming all they want and McCain will have no say either way.

Look what happened to Kerry in 2004.

I also think America is a bit racist and when they go in to vote some people will have a problem voting for a black man. It's sad. I dont agree with it....but that's reality. I dont think Obama has any chance at all in winning a southern state. Which means we are looking at an electoral map very similar to 2000 or 2004.

Karl Rove was on Fox last night and he said Obama's chances of winning in November has declined significantly in the past two weeks.

One poll actually has McCain leading in New Jersey, PA, Florida, and Ohio over both Obama and Hillary. The Democrats have a serious problem. The election is NOT in the bag.

Where exactly are South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Louisianna and Mississippi located?  I thought he already won those states once.

On the Democrat side....yes.
But im talking about the general election. Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia are bright red states. And they dont take kindly to mid-west or new england liberalism. In Florida which is the most liberal southern state is right now showing McCain with a 10 pt lead over Obama.

Also in Lousiana, that is one of the few Senate seats the Democrats may lose. So the politics down there is very different.

I think the chances are very good that he will be the Vice President candidate.
