Florida seems fairly solidly Republican, I don't know that Obama or Hillary would win there no matter what.

I keep hearing people say this, and yet I can count the number of fellow Republicans I've run into down here on one hand.

Then again most other people my age tend to just regurgitate whatever's trendy at the time, and being a conservative is most assuredly NOT fashionable, so there you go.

Can the dems not shoot them selves in the foot for a few days.I mean you barely have enough time to recover from yesterday's farce and your trying to get a handle on today' fuckup. Will the flag at the convention have 49 stars.

I think it presents an opportunity for Republicans to paint Obama as a hypocrite.  Even if it doesn't resonate beyond the state of Florida, it does not require too great an imagination to see how it would resonate within Florida.

Is it a foregone conclusion Obama wins the democratic nomination, his campaign seems to have stumbled might not Clinton still recover and make the $( state convention interesting(to most of the country anyway, sorry Floridians)

I don`t know.

This may well backfire on the republicans.

This artical shows the malfisence of the Florida republicans.

It doesn`t reflect well on them and won`t endear them to independents or swing voters.

This, is what Florida voters are going to remember, not Mr. Obama`s or Mrs.Clinton`s wranglings.

What are they going to "remember", Crist trying to get their votes to count? Yeah, they'll get 'em for that.....

It's 4:30 in the morning, maybe I'm missing something......

The article portrays Governor Crist as something of a political realist and an advocate for his state.  At the state level of politics, that's good governance.  I don't see how this compares to Howard Dean and the DNC choosing to ignore the fourth most populous state in the Union over a rules technicality, especially when those same rules provided a different punitive response.

Don't forget, Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina violated the exact same rule and were not punished at all.

QuietlySeeking -> RE: No do-over in Florida (3/18/2008 7:15:53 AM)

Let's see, the Democratic party leadership can't manage to keep one rogue Democrat State Representative in check (who actually proposed the bill in FL).

The front-runner candidate won't provide vision as to how the Democratic Party can resolve the issue of seating the delegates from one of the swing states in the national election.

The second candidate insists that the votes be counted even though she violated Democratic Party rules by leaving her name on the ballot in FL and MI.

Yup, I'd say some of the independent voters will see these as problems!

Edited to add "in FL"
