I love it when i unexpectedly progress into my final year uni :o) according to our blackboard news i passed all my results,which means the second marker of my failed essay must have marked me "appropriately!" and so i get through and dont have to write that b/s all over again :o) yay,after 2 months agony i can finally enjoy my summerbreak (next to my 300 hours workload i'm doing per month *lol*)

Christinestill -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 10:18:18 AM)

i love that i have a job interview on thursday, and it's in my field!

i also love that i'm going to just do it and sign up for a marathon in the area that will take place in the next several months and start getting myself ready....i'm not going to be running but walking, i know lots of marathons have the "half marathon" option for walkers, etc.  go me!

Rainfire -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 10:38:58 AM)

I love seeing all the good news here (DA - YUM, Christine, a marathon?!?  WOWSERS!!!!) and seeing Punky and Snow curled up on the window together. Queenie is a good girl  and lovable but she ain't the snuggly type....

VirginPotty -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 10:40:33 AM)

Snow?  Is this the one you were chasing over the winter?

Rainfire -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 10:48:06 AM)

[sm=dunno.gif]   Lumus thinks so, I don't..... she doesn't have all the black that the first one did plus she doesn't have any scars where the other was injured. To be honest, considering the state that "Snow" was in over the winter when we tried to catch her, I don't believe she made it. She was in pretty bad shape. [&o]

But this girl looks just like a intact tom that wanders around and I'm wondering if she's related. Though how she'd get spayed is still up for questioning. She's a right love-bug and great housekitteh. So someone had her inside. But how'd she get outside and no one claim her?

VirginPotty -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 11:14:42 AM)

Must have been left behind [&o]

Rainfire -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 11:38:17 AM)

[:(]  I just don't understand how people can do that to an animal, I really don't. Being responsible means caring for your animals, even if it's a hard choice like finding another home for them. Just abandoning them though?  Some days, I wish the dumbasses who do that could experience for themselves what it must be like for the furbabies.

(Yes, I'm a mean, vindictive bitch to those who abandon and abuse animals, I make no apologies for that. Like that would surprise anyone who really knows me.)

Well, I guess thats similar to my Herbie...Herbie is my 0.5 cat because I think she is homeless but am not for 100% sure, so for me she feels like being my cat, whereas practically she isn't...she begs daily for food but is too scared to move in. Sometimes she sits on the edge at my patio door between my lounge into the garden, kind of "I sit here, as here it is warm, but if that thingy on two legs comes along again I jump out straight away, so she can't catch me."

I think Herbie was left behind, or maybe did not like the home she was meant to be living (maybe they got another pet she did not want to accept). A previous cat of mine moved out when I moved back to my parents with my cats...she refused to tolerate that.

When I moved in here with my 2 kitten I thought she was pregnant as she was huge...but I had never seen tiny ones and at that time I also did not know if she belongs to someone or not. Now that she asks for food daily and also once wear a collar from me for a few weeks which nobody removed, I am fairly sure she does not have a home. So I just give her the life she wants...she can have food, and despite that she can have her freedom. If she changes her mind as long as I am living here...she can move in..once I am gone then it would be too late...she gets on marvellous with pepper, curry and spicy and I decided to name her herbie after the car because she is living in the garage from my landlord at times and also in relation to herbs..so she fits namewise to my others...

VirginPotty -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 11:54:31 AM)

Phoenix, can you catch Herbie & get her fixed?
Local Humane Society's do it for bargain basement rates but if that's not an option, check for an Alley Cat Rescue Vet Clinic near you. They do spaying/neutering for free on feral cats.

To be honest I assume that she is done...because I assume that she was not pregnant when I thought she would be (as I never heard any noise or so from little ones) and I know her now since two years where she stayed fairly in shape. But maybe I manage now over my summer uni break to have a bit more time for her. She was 2-3 times in my flat in the past but she never really felt ok with it (which is why I preferred to leave her as she is) However, yep, will try to work more on her and then maybe get her checked at some point over ther summer. It's a bit heartbreaking at times to see her playing with my cats (chasing each other in a playfull mood) but then also seeing that she does not want to come inside really. Shame they can't talk to tell us what is going on...nevertheless I am glad for her that my cats don't mind her (as curry and pepper did mind big time when spicy moved in). So I am glad that they tolerate her well...they just don't seem to be willing to tell her to move in with them...

fluffypet61 -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 12:29:51 PM)

i thought that when you get a new cat or kitten (or dog) you were supposed to take it to a vet for a checkup.  Aren't there diseases that you have to prevent?  Can't the vet tell if it has been fixed?

not entirely sure yet whom that is addressed to, but in case you mean my cats, my cats are known at my vet and have done all the stuff (spayed/neutered, vaccinated,etc.). Only the one which is shy and living in my garden is not known at my vet as it isn't really my cat (I assume she isn't known at my vet...because I could be entirely wrong and she might live 2 doors further just not liking the cat food over there...who knows...). My cats are done, even more thoroughly then previous cats due to upcoming paperwork in the next years when I will relocate to wherever...

Phoenixpower -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 12:47:33 PM)

Thanks VirginPotty. Am fairly sure she has similar thoughts.

fluffypet61 -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 12:49:24 PM)

That's the disadvantage of fast reply.  You aren't sure to whom the comment refers.

In this case i was addressing the thread at large.  Usually when i am answering a specific person i use the quote to keep the original with my reply.

VirginPotty -> RE: I love it when..... (7/6/2009 1:13:22 PM)

I love that I don't have to buy sleeping bags for our vacation next week. A friend is going to loan me 2 of his.....thank GOODNESS!
