I am on my way out, it is a beautiful Saturday morning in the Capital
city of Washington, D.C.

I also plan to buy gas!

How much money will I need?
Will I have any money left to buy the yogurt, fresh fruits and vegetables,
I need to eat?
Should I take out a loan?

It will surely be $4.00 a gallon by the summer!
Feel free to share gas horror stories, I love to read them!

we will see $6 by labor day. as to a road trip- i get very good mileage highway.

typical tank os 14 gallons. so 14 x 4 = 64. so figure $50. as gas isnt quite $4 and the tank isnt totally empty.

all the hype on high gas- it has been this high

Here in WNY half of people here either own a 4WD truck or a 4WD SUV.
People who own 5.7 liter engine cars need to STFU about gas prices.

It was 3.50 in NY a week ago, and its gone up to 3.15 here in Nashville... so I shudder at the thoght of where it will be heading.

I was listening to an interesting interview yesterday and discovered that the far left is actually pushing for higher, and indeed much higher gas prices. They were interviewing a young lady that was part of the tree hugger coalition and her motives were that if we can't afford to drive what we have we'll start using the other alternatives.

While I agree with her and that she had made some very good points it won't much matter if we don't get this thing right pretty soon. It will leave our economy and infrastructure in a shambles and the fact is no one will give a shit about her ecological ebenfits, we'll all be just trying to survive.

I've started to bring it up on other threads how it seems we blew for improving things for the good of industry, society and nature the last time this gas crisis shit hit us. Now I truly could give a damn who the President was then or is now. We the people need to insist on more. Need need short term fixes for the financial aspects and legislative rules put in place to bring us out of the Gas Age.

They regulated the class seven and eight diesel engine technology to the point that by 2010 all that is supposedly coming out of our exhaust tanks is steam. I don't understand all the technology as of yet, maybe one of our science types can help there. But if we were able to regulate this avenue for the betterment of mankind, we can damn sure get more. I think we should explore and get more oil to lesson our foreign needs while we mandate and develope technoligy that removes the future need for oil in any fashion, but let's not cut off our nose to spite our face in the beginning.

More thoughts on this would go along well with this thread I'd think. I'd hate to tell you what your food and subsistance costs will be if fuels hit 6 bucks.

It's $3.15 average here. I have to fill up about every one and half weeks. But I drive a Nissan pickup with a 4 cylinder. A lot of people I know refuse to give up their gas guzzlers, and they are getting what they deserve. I don't care if you have UM's; you don't need that big of a vehicle to tote them and your stuff around! I smile ear to ear everytime I go to get gas. Without fail, there is always some person in a huge SUV bitching about gas prices, and they are usually by themselves.

I paid $3.21 for my gas today.
I saw it priced from $3.21-$3.35 for the unleaded that
I usually get, which is the lowest priced unleaded.

I am heading into D.C. in a few, I bet I will see the same gas
priced at about $3.50.

Here locally in Ontario gas is 1.10 a liter multiply by 3.785 and we are paying $4.16 a US gallon

we also get hit hard buying a car take for example the pontiac torrent which is built right here in Ontario where I work the base price here for Canasa $27,575 MSRP*

in the US the torrent base price in $23, 635 a difference of approx $4,000 not including the provincial 8% and federal 5% sales taxes on top of, GM decided to be nice to us Canadians because the US and Canadian $ are near par and offered us a $500 rebate on some models example the Grand Prix which is also $4000 difference in price to make us on par with the US/Cdn selling prices ...... I wonder where they learned their math????? and no rebate offered for the Torrent I guess they figured customers when they learned it was made in Canada would assume it would be cheaper to buy here than in the US, of course GM won't be dropping prices further because their sales here in Canada have increase over last years sales so they may as well keep gouging their Canadian customers.

The tank on my bike holds a bit over five gallons. If I fill it up from empty the change from a twenty won't buy a fucking happy meal.

Ouch!!! Here in Buffalo we have BUTTLOAD of cars with ontario plate son them. New spare parts for cars cost up to THREE TIMES cheaper here in US comapred to Canada despite the fact that the parts are identical.

Here, unleaded is at about 3.10, 3.15 depending where ya go. The premium stuff is about 3.40, 3.49 too.

Here in western Europe, unleaded is about 8.9$/gallon. (or 1.51euro/l)

3.10$/gallon sounds like a bargain.

The difference is probably taxes, the thing the government uses to give us free health insurance.

Okay, latest update on my gas thread.
lol
I have been in Maryland, D.C. and VA in the past 2 days.

Gas actually appeared to be the highest in Northern Virginia and D.C.

I am rather surprised because gas used to be a bit cheaper in Northern VA!

The place that used to be the cheapest even a month ago {in VA}, was $3.33 today.
I can still buy it down the street for $3.21~
Hot damn!

I was talking to someone today, and I said gas will be $4.00 by the summer, she
laughed at me and said gas will be $4.00 a gallon sooner than that.
