I remember reading the Gor books, and enjoyed them for the adventure, though I did skip most of the slavery, except for one book, where a woman had male slaves and gave them girls' names.  The wrong gender was being enslaved, in my view, in most of the books. However, I did identify with the total submission which "collaring" signified, and really related to that concept that in one instant of time, your life changes forever, and you totally belong to your mistress forever and totally. Is it common to actually collar males? I'd really enjoy that, but you can't wear a collar around all the time. I would enjoy wearing a necklace or bracelet which she put on me, and which I was never permitted to remove, which signified to both of us that she owned me. I'd really get pleasure from that. I'd personally want one which was a bit feminine, but my arms and wrists are too small for men's bracelets, anyway, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I collared secondary with a dog collar with "I belong to Jackie" which he wears when wearing a dog collar won't cause problems---I love it when that's all he wears or those times he can wear it out in public... I'd looked everywhere for something I liked for other times, and finally found it this year--a barcode tag with his number. But darn it, it still hasn't arrived!

1. A plain leather collar can almost be a fashion statement in today's world!

So true...that's why I got secondary a red dog collar that can't be mistaken for jewelry...didn't want him to feel elevated to human status ;) My pet needs to look like my *pet*.

Seriously though, a collar that "blended" wouldn't have the same meaning for us. He's set apart because he is owned. Yeah, he has to take it off sometimes, but he also gets to come home undress and be collared again--which I hope helps him close the door on the part of his life and stresses outside, as he returns to security.

Thanks for all the responses. After reading them and thinking about it, I truly would love a woman to literally collar me and wear that much of the time at home, as well as an 'acceptable' type of public "collar/device". I'd actually enjoy an anklet, since it's feminine and unusual for a male to wear, but not bizarre. I get perceived as a female so often that it wouldn't be unusual on me. I actually shave my legs in the summer, since once they were stared at in restaurants by waitresses when I didn't shave them, even though I don't wear women's clothes. Just shorts and a t shirt. I'm quite feminine appearing. It's just easier to shave them, and there isn't much hair on them anyway. Once a month is all I need to shave them for appearance, though I shave them at least once a week, because I love the smooth feel of them.

Oh, collars are such damn fun. A symbol between the Giver & receiver that can mean nothing except to them. i could wear a pair of cuff links to work everyday and if it was ordered, that could be a collar. Over the last few years, mine have been a ring, one of my favorite bracelets, and one of Her favorite bracelets. The last one was a lot of fun.

6. Something that can easily be hidden on a daily basis unless you wear shorts a lot and can be overlooked as an option ... an anklet. Can provide overtones of a shackle

I am a Switch.. and a Dominant one at that.. I am a very active Domme in my local community and My boy has a small heather and copper bracelet that he wears around his wrist.. it is very traditional and truly african.. and something that can be worn without raising any eyebrows... when we play on the other hand I have a heavy leather bulldog Collar her wears around the house and during plays.

as for myself I have a Domme who i submit to... it is a longdistance relationshop and as sich 99% online... but it is magical and special and more that satisfies my need for dominance... She has gifted me a small indian silver ankle chain that has a secure clasp.. it can only be removed with pliers... and it has a small bell that can be attached when i am with Her... this chain has been on for just over a year.. and everyone I know.. regards it as a part of Me!
