don't use or like perfume

i use body butter to soften my skin every single day and cocoa butter for feet and arms.  if you want shiny legs, use petroleum jelly.

no make up - i go au natural with lip balm for the lips.

i don't use much of anything, although i own a lot of makeup & other girlie products...the new owner has a preference for Neroli scent so i need to get some of that...just soap & water & that's about it....

Talking about Thierry Mugler's Angel: it smells pretty sweet and sugary because the women who wear it spray too much of it.

Actually no. You only need the smallest amount. Perhaps the women you have smelled have oversprayed. And of course some people wear fragrances that do not go with their body chemistry.

I spray just enough of Angel and never had a single complaint for over 15 years. I guess it just enhances MY sweetness.

Chloelicious -> RE: feminine products.... (3/10/2008 7:53:37 AM)

I don't use skin products on my face cause i got a mixed skin and i look greasy most of the time but I do masks (peeling, heating)

A perfume I use:

So pretty -Cartier
Lolita Lempika - Lolita Lempika (like Angel but less sweet)
L'or - Torrente
L'instant - Guerlain
And my new one (received last week for my b'day): Yukimi - Annayake

All my perfume are gifts so no expenses for me. I put it between breasts, on the wrists, and on hair. It is counciled to wear perfume at every place wich have many veins.

Make up: I use supermarket brand or maybellline, but foundation and mascara are mostly/only from Lancôme.

The spf depends on how fair is your complexion, I use in the biggining a spf 30 and later at least a 25 but it is because i'm pretty white.

Now a "grandmother's tips" for dry hairs:

Two table spoon on olive oil
A few drops of eau de cologne (the cheapest)
Two eggs yolk

Mix everything together and put on your hair for at least 1 hour or a whole night (cover your pillows)
The next morning wash your hair normally but carefully
repeat as much as needed or in repairing cure once in the month.

Eau Dynamisante de Clarins is a lovely, fresh fragrance. Perfect in the summer. I love the shower gel. Ultra sweet scents don't suit me: they "turn" on my sourgrapes personality rofl.

Daddyslilpookie -> RE: feminine products.... (3/10/2008 9:58:50 AM)

I love Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue smells so fresh also Victoria Secret's Sexy Little Thing smells awesome too. I also have tons of makeup from Sephora to Mac to Yves Saint Laurent hey my Master spoils me lol[:)].

Lucky thing :-) .

Master can not spoil me with make up , he can't make difference between blush and eyeliner.

LadyRainfire -> RE: feminine products.... (3/11/2008 12:40:46 PM)

Skin care line is Dermalogica, perfume is Obsession, Amarige, or occasionally Pheromone by Marilyn Miglin. Makeup is in transistion but I'm really picky due to sensitive skin and being very fair and redheaded as well. Somethings just don't go very well on me.

SPF factor? The highest I can find, applied liberally and frequently. For me, it's pretty much not a question of "if" I get skin cancer but "when" I get it. Too many years of swimming, sunbathing and killing my skin without protection combined with a nasty family history of it. So I'm pretty watchful and protective of it. [8|]

WaratahBlossoms -> RE: feminine products.... (3/11/2008 12:54:00 PM)

Wow.
I feel poor now.
Seriously.

I use Eucerin Calming lotion on my back and arms since hot water dries the Hell outta my skin.

On my brests, belly, butt, and thighs, I use Dove Firming Lotion. (It REALLY works. My baby-marks are looking a million times better.)

On my face, I just use whatever lotion I have that spreads easily. Usually a little bottle I got for Christmas that's white jasmine.

I don't sun bathe, so I don't really use sun block. The only time I do is when I'm going to be out for hours on end. Then I think I have an SPF 30 or something.

My legs don't shine. Haha. But they're really soft. I run a bath with hair conditioner in the water. Then I use an exfoliant on my legs to bring up hairs and buff off dead skin. Then soak. Use some cheap shave gel on my legs. Then use baby wipes on my legs to clean up any knicks. Then use baby lotion on them to make them soft.

My make up is whatever I can get at the store. And I usually just get dollar store brand items. Except my eyeliner HAS to be the twist-up kind. I don't really use any make up but when I do, it's just a little bit. Liquid foundation, a little eyeliner, maybe some Maybelline mascara.

I love picking up clearance bin lipstick. Just recently, after complaining about only having "tame" lipstick, my pet got me some called "Cranberry Shine" or something. I call it Hooker Red. And yes, you all know that color.

I have tons of perfume. They gather as quick as panties do for me!

I have some passed down from my mother called Tova.
Some Calgon Tahitian Orchid body spray that I love to death.
Vera Wang's Princess (small bottle. TOO damned expensive but love it)
Some old Avon stuff that smells weird. Kinda like old ladies.
Haiku and Kiss Me, both by Avon.
And tons of other random off-brand knock offs that I get from friends.

[Edit: for love of chapstick]

Oh yes! I can't live without lip balm. I have some that's Root Beer flavored. And some other stuff that's medicated or something. It came with the KANKA I got for my teeth pain. Oh, it's Blistex. Kinda peperminty and cooling.

what lotions do you put on your face? legs? arms? is it better or worse if it has a fregrance or freg free?

what spf do you use in the summer for sun bathing? do you use different # spf on different areas? or the same on all areas?

what do you do to get your legs to shine? apparently theres some stockings that do this which are invisible.  is this some kind of waxing that makes it shine?

what perfume are you using? where do you apply it?

makeup products....cheapo stuff....or mac?

me..well im as natural as they come....but for the other questions.... st ives for dry skin/psoriasis on my elbow.  keri on my face/legs  i dont even use perfume...yet...i find its real expensive.

I wish I had the time and funds to be as frou-frou as some of the others that have shared their routine here!  I guess I've become pretty low-maintenance.  No fun!  I shower every other day or so, I use shampoo and conditioner that I buy at the grocery store.  I wash, body and face, with Dove extra moisturizing soap because I tend towards dry skin, and I shave with a disposable razor.

I have a loofah that I'll use on my shoulders and back when I'm feeling really decadent but I have no idea what "dry brushing" is and I've never exfoliated my legs.  Is that something that is more useful depending on the thickness or texture of one's hair?

Not only that, but I've been totally unaware until today that shiny legs was something that one would hope to attain, lol!

I wear Happy by Clinique when I do wear a scent, a couple of times/week, and I apply it to the insides of my wrists and the nape of my neck.  The smaller spray cologne lasts me over a year.

I use Neutrogena hand cream in the Norwegian formula on my hands, especially throughout the winter, and on my feet and elbows when I remember.  It's heavy and greasy and you can't touch anything for five minutes after applying it but it works really well for me!

I use few cosmetics but I spend a little bit more on those since I like the "good" stuff and it lasts me so long.  When I remember to use a facial moisturizer, I use an Estee Lauder one with a built-in SPF 15 sunscreen.  A creme in the winter and a lighter lotion in the warmer months.

For everyday use, I use a bit of Clinique pressed powder to even out skin tone and some blistex lip balm and that's it.  If I'm going all out, I use Estee Lauder's twist-up eyeliners (love them, I can line the inner part of my eyelids and it doesn't smear!), I've been using a Revlon mascara I think for a couple of years now (silver tube with blue print on it,) and I can't even remember what brand blush is in the bag...there are a couple, a peachy one and a pinky one.

Oh, and once Spring has sprung, if I know I'll be spending more than 10 minutes outdoors, I use an SPF 75 and reapply regularly.  Even with that, I'll still get some color and will burn if I stay in direct sunlight longer than a couple of hours.  I am so pale, I glow in the dark!

You are taking care of yourself and it is Girly enough. You don't need to expense much to be girly. Some of us are naturally beautifull and some need a bit of help from make up (i'm the second kind, even if it would have been more usefull to have a plastic surgeon at home 24/7 lol)

favesclava -> RE: feminine products.... (3/12/2008 8:17:13 AM)

fragance free.spf 30 face and body,i show a lot of cleavage in the summer and must protect "my girls". i wear obssesion perfume primarily, lucky you sometimes. i shave my legs not wax. Master's job to turture me, not some salon lady. i wear stockings and garterbelts only.no pantyhose.i prefer ivory soap, but will use perfumed bathgel as bubblebath.i buy the best i can afford for my body. i read beauty magazines like allure that puts out a readers choice once a year. but i mostly stick with what i already know i like.
