Not if you seek those endorcements and get them,as McCain did with Haggee. That`s called a two way street and a mutual assosiation. How does it work with endorsements the candidates make? Specifically his church affiliation which he credited, as recently as yesterday during his 'Sermon on the Mount' referenced interview where he came out opposed to same sex marriage. Nobody's responded to this point thus far, excepting for name calling and referencing the Carter years, with a answer to the question; would a person coming from this church affiliation having all "Black" referenced changed for "White" from its Mission Statement, be a viable national candidate? quote:
We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community. Senator Obama is still my choice for least reprehensible to vote for. Just yesterday he made more points with me when it was uncovered that he's against NAFTA publicly in Ohio, while meanwhile one of his top advisers was meeting with Canadian leaders to redefine "against" and let them know there were multiple definitions of 'against' depending upon the audience; in this case the Ohio factory workers who lost their jobs as a result of NAFTA. Then there is his real estate dealings with political fundraiser Robert Kagan, currently on trial for extortion and corruption. I always believed that his Chicago political roots would be an asset. Having experience with good old fashioned back room deals struck by business men smoking good cigars and drinking will serve him well in Washington. Of course, Senator Clinton called Mr. Rezko a "slum landlord" but my guess is few recognize how funny the accusation regarding profiting from inside information is coming from Senator Clinton. Unless you know someplace where $1,000 can be converted into $100,000 in one year; you have to give her credit for her investment savvy. That and her good friends on the Board at Tyson. And, unlike what would be the case for you and I, her $1,000 bought $12,000 of contracts. However, Senator Obama is worth a vote for many other reasons. I don't fear his 'liberal' voting record. My research regarding his trusted advisors and PAC affiliations give me confidence that an Obama Administration won't have a negative impact on me or my business. On the political/social front, akin to President Nixon going to China, Senator Obama will best serve to rid this country of racially prejudicial legislation such as Affirmative Action, and Equal Employment Opportunity. These laws treat Blacks as woman as inferiors saying they need extra help to compete with males and whites. It perpetuates prejudice and Senator Obama can serve as a standard-bearer to stop it from corrupting another generation seeing these laws as evidence of their inferiority. I'm afraid that the Clinton Election Machine will derail Senator Obama today. The smear campaign seems to be taking effect. I expect him to lose both Texas and Ohio. The battle between him and Senator Clinton will go right through the convention. quote:
