If we go back and look at the OJ Saga we know he isn't. He remained quiet on the public attitude that was adopted by those involved and conintued on with his agenda. I see no reason to think it would be different now.
To be fair here, McCaiin also for poltical reasons sucked up to Bush even after the fiasco in S.Carolina in their primary. I can't imagine how much whisky and gin it took to swallow that down, but he did what he had to do at the time. However, I see that as more a personal relationship and having to play nice with a Bush for a couple years to get his shot at the Presidency doesn't have the potential to have an adverse effect on this nation. As once elected, heck even now, he can distance himself and it is unlikely the Bush<s> will have any influence at all and it will be their turn to play nice with McCain (I kinda look forward to that :) ). Obama on the other hand and his Islamic background and connection I just don't view in quite the same way, And thats before we get into his lack of experience, etc......
As a lifelong Democrat I can tell you I am sick at heart over the choices we have this year. It's not the first time though. I live in a state that is one of the last to hold a primary. By the time it gets to us, well regardless of the names on the ballot to me the choice is almost always between the same two, Piss and Poor. This year it is the Pissest and Poorest ever. Even worse than the late 1980's when we had the good Mass Govorner in the tank, with a hat..Pardon me but that is one those political years that I prefer blocking out for my own sanity. However, I remained loyal to my party. I have not voted for a Republican since 19 and 85 for any office for any reason. As I also vote in the primaries no matter the choices. It's a priviledge one should not take for granted to have a choice (even when the choice is Piss and Poor) so I vote, even if I have to write in a vote, I vote. I know I will vote for neither of the two left in the Democratic primary this will be another year that I write in a vote..I am still trying to decide who would be best for President...Charlie Brown or Mickey Mouse....It's a tough decision but either is better than what we have on the ballot. Before you say, wasting your vote, remember that about a decade ago a town fed up with the poor quality of candidates elected overwhelmly a stuffed poodle to the town council so I hold out hope for my candidate :). Whatever happens in the primary really doesn't matter as I have no intention of voting for either Obama or Clinton in the main Election. After 22 years of straight Dem ticket...I will have to take a big swig of whiskey, brace myself and pull the republican lever (if McCain gets the nomination) if it's some total jackarse well I guess I'll have to take a look at the Commuinist guy, or maybe write in Goofy. ( You have no idea what it's like to be a lifelong Dem and finding yourself hoping, praying, please don't let the Republican be as dumb as the Dems, Please don't just this once...I know whatever happens I will not pull a lever for either Clinton or Obama....I will no more be responsible for one of those going in the White House than I was a Bush going in. On this at least I know I do not stand alone. Being involved in party politics for so many years and having connections throughout the US it is not at all unusual. Many of the hardcore solid support mainstream Dems feel that way. It's truly sad for all of us. Far to many have no intention of even bothering with the Primary as they have made up their minds neither are acceptable as President. So don't be fooled by primary results as the only ones really voting are the ones that don't bother to think about a candidate, who he/she is, or what they stand for...but will vote for other superficial reasons (example Clinton is a woman..umm okay then what?) ...But when it is time for the main election in order to win you HAVE to have your strong party base (which isn't there for either of these two and I don't see it happening), and you have to pull in the independents that do not vote in the primaries..Whatever chances these two had (and I didn't intend to vote for either in the primary anyway was there were not my first choice but I would have considered them in the main Election as they were of my party) with the hard core party base of voters and independents they caused it to drop significantly to almost non existent when they began going for votes with "I'm a woman vote for me, I'm black vote for me." We are gun shy and shell shocked having lived through way to much of the throwing out gender and race card's over the last two decades. It is the best way to get an upsurge in women and minority voters, in the primary but will do little for them in the main election, it is also the best way to turn off the hardcore party base and independents. To win the primary both lost focus and pandered to elite groups. BTW I"m female, but I"m as sick of hearing that as the others, and for Hillary its a bad sign, because other women that are not die hard feminist are also sick of the "cards" being pulled out.
Anyway, I'd look back into his past, his connections, his beliefs (those before he wanted to get elected) and draw conclusions. As we already know more often than not he refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance, or to place his hand over his heart which is our show of respect for this Nation during the playing of our anthem.....Maybe its time to wonder why...if all his "conversions" are heart felt and not poltically motivated..why would his actions not have changed?
