Thats insane, only cars that are exactly 10 years old can be imported? Next year only 99s can be imported? I can see why people want to sneak north.

lol....i actually owned a yugo when i was 19...how many years ago was that? wow. and i think we should send them back in 1990 Yugos....they don't need to be telling us what to do.

How bizarre. Their old rules made perfect sense to me, but that's... different. Then again, maybe they've just got someone in legislature who wanted to stick it to used car salesmen [:D]

Y'know things like this burn me up to the point that if I expressed my whole opinion on it I would be in danger of getting thrown off CM. So Mexico is allowed to protect it's trade interests and we are not ? That is bullshit. Maybe our government should only allow quality products into the country, oh they can't, both China and the Walmart lobby would be pissed off. That's all for now. T

I owned one. If I'd seen the 'final assembly plant' before I bought it, or if I'd known to look for it, I would never have bought it. Most problematic piece of shit I've ever owned. Maybe theres a zillion 1998 used cars to be had? So who knows, one more crazy government rule to try and get around? I think its all about rule making to people elected or placed in office who need to justify their jobs. New rules also make new rule violaters. New violaters mean more incomes from fines. More violaters making the news, means people who make the rules are doing their jobs and cleaning up our streets and neighborhoods to be safe for law abiding citizens. No matter how silly the rules. Its a form of civilized insanity.
