Status: offline 		i have a very vague idea of what a daddy dom is, but is he one who is also a sadist? Or a loving dom that treats his little girl as just that, his little girl? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. And i do know that every relationship is different on how they use the term.

Status: offline 		No real experience here, so others will no doubt give more fact based answers. But it seems to me that the loving aspect is important - the "parent/child" relationship where trust, love, dependability etc are blended with discipline for naughtiness.

So inflicting pain for pleasure (my simplistic take on sadism) is not likely to be common.

I happen to be both, but the two are mutually exclusive.

Rather than give you a definition of what a Daddy is [as mine would probably be biased], I'll wait until LuckyAlbatross wanders in with her links.

Status: offline 		I have a baby girl, who is also a masochist. Therefore I am her Daddy and me being a sadist it fits well. While in Daddy/daughter mode I rarely ever strike her even in play only if she has been naughty and needs punishment. We save that for times when she is not in little mode. I don't know how other couples do it but beatings and sadism do not play much of any part in our Daddy/daughter play.

Status: offline 		for me i think the Dom can be both i personally see M.S. as both because, i can be in His arms one second holding Him like a teddybear and the next His sadistic side comes into play...either way it's always fun but, i dont call Him daddy, i think of Him like that in a sense but, We dont "use it" in that sense.  i know that was probably confusing....

for our relationship, he is Daddy and i am NOT his daughter.  i have issues, i've been abused by bio-father.  its just how our dynamic goes, not to say one is better than the other.

i will always be his lil girl.  and as he says, "Daddy is love" no matter what we're doing together.  snuggling, telling jokes, discussing history, making love, him beating on me for a while...all of it is love.

Status: offline 		I am a very sensual sadist.  While I don't consider myself a "Daddy Dom", at least to my girl, I do very much concentrate on what makes her happy.  I would get no joy out of forcing her to endure something that she loathes.  I feed of positive energy, and the negativity and resentment in that case would bring the scene down for me.
