those of you that have been here awhile may remember me. i used to post a lot. personally this site has pissed me off and been so annoying somtimes I stopped posting and rarely check messages. majority of this site is bs, but wanted to drop by the forums and see what is new!

thetammyjo -> RE: how is everyone (2/29/2008 9:35:56 AM)

I am getting ready, other than packing I am ready now, for my job interview/campus visit to Denver this Sunday and Monday.

Also getting ready for Millennicon in a few weekends -- have the ideas for the panels down, have the story done, game needs a bit more revisions I think.

Thanks for asking, moki1984.

What's life throwing at you right now?

Just working and living. Trying to survive the winter and waiting for things to get green and warm again.

In pain.  Tired.  Grumpy.  Bored.

But the surgery was a successful so I know that this too shall pass.

My new 16 inch bionic replacement dick should be arriving next week.
Oh, you didn't hear?

Raechard -> RE: how is everyone (2/29/2008 3:26:29 PM)

Most people are ok if you ask them how they are, I find.[8|]

RedMagic1 -> RE: how is everyone (2/29/2008 6:36:13 PM)

Correct, Raechard.  If you see a friend who looks down, and you want to make yourself available, don't ask that.  Make a statement: "You look terrible."  "You look down."  Then they can respond by opening up, instead of the kneejerk societal reflex of "Fine."

sub4hire -> RE: how is everyone (2/29/2008 6:46:25 PM)

Too busy with work, forums and city council crap.
As well as personal issues.  My husband/dom just had neck fusion surgery..so just wonderful.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: how is everyone (2/29/2008 7:38:28 PM)

Moki the site never changed, only your understanding of it.  You fought against it for awhile, so it's harder to reconcile with now.

FangsNfeet -> RE: how is everyone (2/29/2008 7:57:54 PM)

Our unborn child is expected and will be forced to pop out in twenty days or less.

domiguy -> RE: how is everyone (2/29/2008 7:58:57 PM)

It hasn't changed...It's still a bunch of bs...I don't remember you ever being here. But it is so lovely for you to pop back in.

There has been an extremely interesting thread about mentors and one about enemas...You have missed so much.

I would take this further.  Most people who ask "how are you" are really uncomfortable hearing honest answers.  They want to hear the knee jerk reaction.

I usually say "Want the truth or the societally mandated generic response?" with my friends.

Can you imagine what a drag it would be if people actually told you how they were actually feeling? I would really be choosy about who I spoke with.

lol When I got back from living abroad, everyone would ask "How was it?" as if you could summarize six months of total life changing evolution into such a response.  It angered me for awhile that they would be so callous and dumb.  But eventually I realized they didn't really care and were just making polite conversation, and I responded in kind with a simple one sentence answer.

The sorts of questions people ask can be a fabulous indicator of how aware they are.
