An American soldier got lucky and won $1 million dollars from a scratch-off lotto ticket. But not even a million dollars will change his mind to volunteer for a 3rd tour in Iraq.

He's going to need a good assault rifle to keep them women back when he's done with the tour.

Good for him for supporting his mates - but this has the potential to turn into a "Prince Harry" in my opinion.

If his compatriots dont have him kidnapped for ransom, then the insurgents definitely will - if they can identify him.

A mil will buy him some decent body armor,so he`s around to spend it.

Well, like I said on the Prince Harry thread, God be with you, soldier!

Body armor is nice, but the hallmark injury of this war are survivors of barometric head trauma injuries due to proximity to explosives.

On the body armour thing - I was talking to some trade attache or other the other day who was due to go to Iraq for some business trip.

He was told to report somewhere to get body armour and helmet etc ready for the trip, where he was told that it was a waste of time all in all, since anyone likely to shoot at him would be using armour piercing ammunition these days.

So, does anyone know if thats true?
