So Tell us Your Favorite  Drink and what goes into it.
Also what does it do to You, or for You?

When I was drinking, it was  Malibu and Pineapple.

It just felt good going down

My all-time favorite cocktail is the one that when I drank it, I immediately jumped on my trail bike and rode it through the ocean surf. I have no idea what was in it or what it was called; it was a group decision on the ingredients for it was presented to me as a birthday drink. I don't remember riding through the surf nor on how I got home. I do remember the next day though, pulling bits of kelp out of the bike and washing out sand from the mechanicals. My neighbor mentioned something about Goldschlagger, Crown, and peppermint something-or-other. ;-)

My usual go-to drink, the one I can properly identify, is a kamikazee -- on the slightly sour side please. I just like the way it tastes.

When I was an avid alkie, I'd say baileys or if i wanted to get drunk fast, the cheapest burbon in the store.

Now that Im clean, I'd say green tea with milk and splenda. It just soothes the senses

alkies go to meetings...when i drank i was a drunk...meetings ruin getting drunk...and since it seems to be a popular theme, when i drank my favorite drink was a alien secretion (malibu, midori and pinaple juice) or a white russian if i wanted something sweet, naked chilled tequilla or JD if i was drinking shots and shiner bock in between shots...i was a good drunk....or is that i was good and drunk...

now, i like espresso...2/3s espresso and 1/3 heavy whipping cream is about the right ratio, and lots of sugar....in a 10 oz coffee mug....lasts 10 minutes if i drink it slow...addict? who? me? nah....

eta: oh yea, it warms my belly and gives me energy...

I go for coffee. With a cinamon creamer and a good dash of sugar when I want something a little more exotic, of course.  It makes me feel more human, its my equivalent of comfort food.

I dont do alcohol, it never did anything that made me feel good. The most exotic i get is a little irish cream in my coffee, and even then I prefer irish cream flavored creamer to the real thing.

Rum & Coke, with a big twist of lime.  No matter what phases I go through or new favorite drinks I try, I prefer something classic, like Rum & Coke.

I have seasonal favorites.

Fall/Spring - A piratically frozen dry Bombay Sapphire martini up with 2 anchovy or blue cheese stuffed olives.
Summer - Beer, Dos Equis w/shot of Patron. Or Lowenbrau if you can find it.
Winter - Scotch, single malt, neat, brandy snifter, bedroom fireplace, naked slave resting by my feet. Oban preferred. (Never cold enough to really enjoy properly in LA - the scotch, not the slave!)

They all "do" the same thing - not let me forget I'm drinking something that effects the senses. None have a taste that can be confused with a fruit drink or thirst quencher. They are to be sipped and enjoyed.

I rarely drink alcohol, that whole feeling of impairment doesn't usually feel good to me......but once we get past the zone of single malt scotches. (Laproig, anyone?)  there is the Seabreeze, of which I had TWO last Saturday evening---vodka, cranberry, and grapefruit juice, and the Manhattan, with extra maraschino cherries.  And Spanish or Irish coffee, because hey!  it's winter.

I am not one much for alch. but I do enjoy wine with a good meal. Reds give me migraines now like you wouldnt believe.  I miss them. I could start a thread on wine... LOL but I wont.

I also like a good Brandy, sitting by the fire place.. snuggled up with my honey.. some jazz on the stereo... ( I know.. I know.. )

Twisted apple by Smirnoff for BBQ's Or thier pomegrante. Yummy!

Fuzzy navels at the beach.

But usualy Cafe con leche and Green Iced Tea, or southern style sweet tea, extra lemon.

Herbal hot teas when I want to relax.

I do not drink to get intoxicated.. but if that happens I am usualy a very friendly  gal.

Any one who gets all when they drink just shouldnt do it!

Gwyn

My all time favourite beverage is water.......how boring eh?

Aside from that I have been known to form a fondness for

New Orleans style cafe au lait....no sweetner. It must be made with French Market coffee/chicory which I order by the case. The feeling.......ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
I drink alot of herbal teas also. It's like comfort food in a cup.
A good tawny port.........warm glow.
Dry red wine......omg yum....relaxed.
Good gin and tonic....another relaxing ahhhhhhhh moment but also very refreshing in hot weather.
Jamesons has become my new favourite whiskey, but I also love a really good, aged bourbon. Just a little water added. Warm glowy thing.
A good good vodka, on the rocks with a twist of citrus fruit (whatever is handy)is refreshing.
Occasionally GOOD margaritas, stressing good. The mood will depend upon the company I am in. The best margarita I ever had was in Cozumel, made with mescal. One drink and I felt totally stoned not drunk but stoned. It was quite good.

I had a sour apple martini for the first time the other day... holy crap was that good.  But I tend to like the more tart drinks anyways.  Cosmopolitans are good too.  Amaretto di Saronno on the rocks, Kamikazees, Long Island Iced Teas.  I'm not much for frou frou blender drinks, although an occasional frozen mudslide or frozen margarita is good.

As for what they do to me?  Well, they make me wet, and I don't mean because I spilled my drink on myself.

Good ol' Screwdriver. Vodka is the liquor for meeeee. I'll drink any kind of juice with vodka in it, as long as there's still enough booze to burn some when it goes down. Usually makes me giggly and hyper. Anything else I drink just makes me want to sleep.

My favorite drink? A little something called "strip-and-go-naked," which consists of a little beer, vodka and lemonade...quite tasty if mixed just right?

What does the drink do to me?

Well, I think the name says it all.
