Scroll down and type contracts in the search bar on this page.   Another page pops up titled All forums type contracts then hit search you will get some results.

There are many reasons for contracts and it will serve you well to research them before determining if entering into a contract will be of value to you. Just remember, no chain of steel more tightly binds then one so fragile as the gossamer wing of a butterfly.

Might i suggest a spellchecker?

I hope that if you are writing one yourself, that you or someone you trust spellchecks it before you print it, or you could be in for something you didnt mean to get into...

Spell check would not have worked as Salve is a word.

And Dyslexia is something that would have kept him from spotting this typo on his own unless he were spell editing but that takes forever for such a simple question.

I understood what he was looking for so did everyone else, wonder why so many like to jump on the superiority band wagon whenever someone shows a little weakness of a simple mistake.

As for me I just can't spell worth a damn and don't spell check, cause well Joke um if the can't take a Fcuk!

Why is a contract needed?  I mean do you need this bond to make it real?
(just curious)

Looking at contracts others have done is all well and fine.  However, any contract you are part of should really be customized for what is important for your relationship.  Cut-and-pasting from someone else's takes a lot of the meaning out of it.

Writing a contract isn't very hard.  Start with the basics.  Dom/me and slave both make a simple list of things that they need in the relationship.  It can be simple or detailed and there's no need for fancy wording at this point.  Just a simple bullet-pointed checklist.

Next, generically categorize those needs.  Maybe you separate out what you need to be able to do vs what you need the other person to do for you.  Make the categories as simple or as complex as you like, but no category should have less than two or three entries.

Next, outline what you need the contract to say.  The simplest ones are the best.  Party A agrees to do this.  Party B agrees to do that.  If either party doesn't, then C result will occur.  Sign it and live it.

That's the easiest contract.

Our personal M/s contract ran almost 11 pages.  We ENJOY that anal-retentive level of minutia.  For example, we put in provisions for temporary suspension (family is visiting!) and outright termination, how to change the contract if it's needed, how and when we can play with others, etc.  However, ALL of those provisions started at that basic bullet-point list of what we needed to be happy (ie, need = ability to not be TPE when family around, for example).

Looking at others' contracts online is ok, but if you're looking for ideas, then I would advance you may not be sure where YOU are at in terms of understanding your own needs.

(my apologies, I did not mean to lecture)

justme,

Just get burned by a sub that pleaded one way and then changed her mind when she got mad at you. The legal system will throw some light on it for you. Not fool proof but does lend a defense against fem beating / errrrrr domestic violence .

Please remember however, no matter how detailed the contract, it will be legally unenforceable if one or the other party decides to back out, leave, or break it in any way. A good Pre-nup however can help if there is a more permanent relationship (read marriage) that dissolves.

So nice to see some compassion here for a change. [:)]

LotusSong -> RE: Salve contracts (2/25/2008 3:43:53 PM)

hmmmm Salve contract..  is that similar to a Poultice contract?

Shawn1066 -> RE: Salve contracts (2/25/2008 3:49:07 PM)

I was listening to a legal show a week ago, and a man was horrified to hear that his contract with a woman wasn't legally valid.  He just couldn't believe that it couldn't force her to get an abortion or keep the secret from his wife. *sigh*

I can see the appeal of a contract as a kind of guideline for the relationship, but please remember that it's not actually legally binding.

The irony is that I am dyslexic

It makes me really careful about things like titles.
