Muttling -> Car trouble......Need mechanical advice. (2/24/2008 8:18:44 PM)

I'm pretty sure the engine is flooded.   I've pumped the gas peddle, let it sit for a while but it still won't start.

Here's a photo that give you some ideas.

You need to open up the carbuerator, and let it air out.

Oh, and install a snorkel.

Edited to add:  Oh, and blow the ballast tanks!

Naaah... its a blue car... I had a blue car once, and what was wrong with it was the timing belt was slipping...[;)]

I was thinking I might need to tighten the muffler belt too.

TheHeretic -> RE: Car trouble......Need mechanical advice. (2/24/2008 8:21:27 PM)

        Seems like the problem might be a loose nut behind the wheel.

, try not to use cheap gas.  you might have water in the tank

mnottertail -> RE: Car trouble......Need mechanical advice. (2/25/2008 5:30:48 AM)

I don't know, it could be something really simple..... where you getting your gas?  do you always get it at the same place?  is the transmission slipping?  does it make like a 'twoot-twoo' noise between 55-60?

Muttling, next time you top up the radiator make sure you stop at the " FULL" mark. How many jugs of water did it take to put that much in ?

Hippiekinkster -> RE: Car trouble......Need mechanical advice. (2/25/2008 6:40:12 AM)

When was the last time you changed the air in the tires?

pahunkboy -> RE: Car trouble......Need mechanical advice. (2/25/2008 6:46:18 AM)

I think  it is Hugo Chevaz fault!     all in an effort to bring us to our knees.   try not to hog 2 parking spaces- the rest of us need to park as well.

LaTigresse -> RE: Car trouble......Need mechanical advice. (2/25/2008 7:03:33 AM)

It's all your fault, you didn't give it swimming lessons when it was but a yugo.

Termyn8or -> RE: Car trouble......Need mechanical advice. (2/25/2008 2:12:56 PM)

You need to find that screw in the back of the carbobulator and give er a twist to the right. NOT the left, the right. This is very important.
