I don't know the current pair, but congrats to them!

Every single pair I've met (and one set I had the honor of judging) have been outstanding ambassadors for their area and for M/s relationships overall. Each pair has been very different, but all great people and well deserved winners.

This is not a beauty contest and it ain't no spelling bee.

We met Sir Top and slave bonnie at Kinky Kollege last November and they were some of the coolest, most-interesting, most-dynamic people we've ever met. Also, Sergeant Major and riches came to our local educational munch group late last year and were likewise truly wonderful people to be around.

Grats to all the winners - not many better ambassadors exist.

Congrats to your friends!
I know they are in good company having met Lady Lynette at the MTTA earlier this month. Up until this past year, I've never met so many people devoted to responsible behavior and education in the M/s life.

They have worked really really hard for this, traveled all over the US lecturing and speaking, raised tons of moneys, primarily for NCSF, and started a local chapter of MAsT along with a strong effort to bring together the diverse elements of the scene locally.

Congratulations guys! I am very very proud...

I won the "Single sub guy who wants a Domme but pisses off easily 70% of them" title.

(I'm feeling pretty good about myself now).

Hi y'all! I was fortunate enough to be present when Sir Top and slave bonnie won! I have to say that from what I heard the competition was tough, and the judging was almost too close to count. The point difference between the first place and the second place was only 3 points on a 500 point judging scale. The winning couple really earned and deserve recognition for their hard work. (Besides they looked amazing! too!)

I guess I don't "get" the need for other people to validate who I am. Obviously they had to enter to be considered. Kinda like Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize for a flick on global warming. It just doesn't make sense to me.

~fr~ Leather titles has always had an elitist view in the het community. I say het because I believe in truly pan communities that they understand the workings and whys of having such titles. In my opinion, must titles are needed and created for the right reasons, as a outreach to community and understanding of BDSM and our place in culture as well as the fact we are part of the workings of a common goal which is why most titleholders donate their time and money to outreach organizations, many not being leather related. For an example, in 1996 The Sanctuary of Dark Angel donated money to the Atlanta Police Department Motorcycle Division for new uniforms as there was no budget for that. The traditions are also something people get giddy about. When the people producing the event are doing it for the right reasons and there is an educational element to it much like what Doug and boy bob did with IMsL in 99, there really is nothing more amazing. When Pantheon of Leather did this especially in the New Orleans days these gave people a chance to learn about BDSM (if they wanted to) and see pageantry to some a great combination.

Being a title holder though is hard. Honestly, I believe winning the title is the EASIEST step (but that isn't easy either). I can't speak for any title holder before 1996 though I've met a few but I do know that after spending time with Jill (Carter) who won International Ms. Leather in 1996, she paved the way for future title holders in BDSM based contests for her work during her year as titleholder and in addition to what she continues to do. While everyone may not agree with me on that. What you do as a title holder is more important than winning it.

Sorry wasn't clear My statement was that Master Steve Sampson and slave kirk won the 1999 title, I was off by a year they won the title in 2000 and after that the title became a teaching title. prior to that the platform was a contestants choice if I am not mistaken.

1999 was Miss Khiki and slave samantha.

BTW Master Doug is doing well (he'll never be himself again but) He has recovered much better than anyone even dared to hope for after his stroke 1.5 years ago.

I am glad he is doing much better he is a great man and had a huge impact on many of us!

I remember Khiki's fantasy scene that year it was amazing. Those years as "Dungeon Mistress" of the Chamber paid off
