I got my syringes free at my local drug store. I admit though, I wove a small fib about my fictitious dog that liked to chew his medicine syringes to get them, [;)] but then the end result got me four free syringes.

Making them is very simple and doesn't even require any tools should you choose.

1. Remove the plunger.
2. Cut off the injector tip.
3. I used a lighter to melt the cut edges so you can smoothe them and even them out. (Be careful when smoothing though as it's hot and can burn Your fingers.)
4. Next, cut a wire coathanger into four 3" straight lengths.
5. Measure and mark the plunger where you want the pins placed to hold them.
6. Using pliers to hold the coathanger piece, heat it up the free end with a lighter and press it into the mark you made on the plunger. It will melt right through and make a perfect size hole for your pin. (Make sure to wiggle it a bit and move it back and forth a bit to ensure that it will slide in easily for when you use it.
7. Repeat #6 for each of the pin holes.
8. The new syringe suction device is now ready to use.

You can cap the ends of Your wire pins with cold-rubber dip, (the kind of dip you can find at any hardware store that they use to make metal tools non-cunductive) so they won't be pointy. (Just make sure to make the plunger holes a little wider so the cap will go through as well as the pin.) Or you can simply file down any sharp edges and use them as is.

You can use this method on any type of plastic syringe. My drugstore had two sizes, small, apprx. 2" long and only about a centimeter or so in diameter and a medium size, apprx. 4" long with a larger diameter. You can also find syringes of a larger size in your grocery store, I think most call them "flavor injectors" and, as mentioned above, you can also find them in the veterinary sections of Fleet Farm.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your project and happy, safe play!

Sincerely,

merry

I have 10cc ones and they work great...

BalletBob -> RE: Help--Trying to Modify Syringes (9/27/2005 8:55:46 PM)

Hey Trj, Turn the Syringes around, so the end oppisite the end you cut, is against the body..you'll get a more smoother end. It doesn't matter about the end away from the body, since the plunger is just sticking our of that end.

PS I am still waiting for my Suringes to come.

BalletBob -> RE: Help--Trying to Modify Syringes (9/28/2005 3:25:55 PM)

Hi Trj. I GOT MINE ! I just got done "Modifying" mine, and will post pictures here, Step by Step. I don't think I can post one with them on me, so I post a slose up...and if anyone wants to see the full view, they can e-mail me and I can send it that way. I also have the 10 CC, but that is almost the same size as my Nipple, so I am not sure if I wil use that, even though I fixed that one too.

Bob

This is what my Syringe looked like before I started. It is a 20CC Syringe. I

BalletBob -> RE: Help--Trying to Modify Syringes (9/28/2005 3:28:44 PM)

This is STEP 2. Cut off the end were the Needle Goes. I used a small hack saw, but you might be able to use a razor knife, if your VERY CAREFUL ! The Plastic is quite thick.

BalletBob -> RE: Help--Trying to Modify Syringes (9/28/2005 3:31:07 PM)

This is STEP 3. Drill a Small Hole in the Plunger. I did mine about half way, but oyu could use any many holes as you need for adjusting.

BalletBob -> RE: Help--Trying to Modify Syringes (9/28/2005 3:32:34 PM)

trj -> RE: Help--Trying to Modify Syringes (9/28/2005 4:15:51 PM)

Oh my God. What a simple, really great idea. I spent a long time trying to sand those things. You have a great mind. :)

Thank you.

BalletBob -> RE: Help--Trying to Modify Syringes (9/28/2005 4:20:33 PM)

This is STEP 5, the Final one. I used a Big Safety Pin, though I heard about others using a small nail. I pushed the Plunger almost all the way in the Tube. I then placed it over my Nipple, and slowly pulled out the Plunger. When it got last the hole, I used the Safety Pin, and adjusted it, so it rests against the end of the tube. I used some Saliva too, for a better seal.
