ORIGINAL: ManInTheBox Is it just me or does it seem that no matter who is elected here...we'd be just as screwed as we are now? Well, let's think about this for just a second here.... Eisenhower (sp?) said in his election campaign that inflation (under 2%) was too high, that he'd solve that problem, raise employment, fix the inequalities in life, lower the national debt and largely make this a better place. He got elected. Later.... Kennedy came on to the scene and said "Inflation (under 2%) is too high, that (he’d) solve that problem, raise employment, fix the inequalities in life, lower the national debt and largely make this a better place". Johnson pretty much didn't give a shit about inflation, spend like a drunken sailor, made it clear to everyone "we're gonna win this war"...and then walked away from the whole game a few years later. Nixon came in and said..."Inflation (under 4%) is too high, that (he’d) solve that problem, raise employment, fix the inequalities in life, lower the national debt and largely make this a better place". Carter came in and said "Inflation (under 9%) is too high, that (he’d) solve that problem, raise employment, fix the inequalities in life, lower the national debt and largely make this a better place". Reagan came in and said "Inflation (under 15%) is too high, that (he’d) solve that problem, raise employment, fix the inequalities in life, lower the national debt and largely make this a better place". Bush 1 came in and said "inflation's under control, no new taxes...trust me on this"...raised taxes...got blown out and then.... Clinton 1 came in and enjoyed the raft of new tax money coming in, along with the flood of new tech money...and had a blast lowering the national "deficit" but not the debt....pretended to lower our debt and then.... Bush 2 came in and said "Inflation is under control...let's go blow something up....we have all this money just floating around....it ain't gonna cost a thing"...and now..... The next Prez is about to take charge when our debt has tripled in just 8 years, inflation is about to explode beyond anything anyone alive has any concept of, the US dollar ain't worth 6 Peso's, thanks to Bush 1, Bush 2 and Clinton 1, your jobs are about to be done by anyone other than you, and your Hibachi costs less in real dollars than in 1953 (when Eisenhower was elected)...so....yeah.... ...I'd say we're about to be as screwed as we were before. (That fairly well sums things up). Well that has been my point all along. I hear people talk about how ron paul either couldnt get anything done or how he will totally screw up the country! The question how the hell could he possibly do worse than the syndicate has already done? We have been taught to vote for everything but how this country was designed to be run. Vote for least evil A 3rd party vote is a throw away vote If you cant have the one you want vote against the one you hate most Whats with these candidates throwing their votes to another? Does anyone have a clu what that does to politics in this country? It perpetuates the 2 and only the 2 party system such that 50% of the people are so disenfranchised they do not even vote. Everything I mentioned above perpetuates a 2 and only 2 party system. Then we have democrats hating republicans and vice versa what kind of shit is that? There is nothing more repugnant to a republic than voting for the "party". Then crying because you hate the sob after they are in. Consider this. Vote your conscience for a change! Fuck it if he or she doesnt stand a snowballs chance in hell of getting in. You are supposed to vote your conscience and when people start seeing other than 2 party candidates doing well the system will change. You know the definition of insanity right? Its when you do the same thing over and over and expect different results. Now my election question is what do we prefer..... a 1 party sydicate or a 2 party syndicate?
