For all the talk about "liberal media", the bulk of newspapers, radio, and television broadcasters are in conservative hands. http://www.makethemaccountable.com/myth/LiberalMedia.htm

Thank God I'm apolitical.

Another article from the 'liberal media'.

the right wing fear mongers are always going on about how they get fucked and how the sky is falling.....they are simply full of shit.

Its so unfair, so unfair!!!  Learn to work it out, don't walk out of congress, don't disparage everyone who is not neo-con, actually show some thought and intelligence and it may be repaid in return.

Note that the same sort of buffoons who point out an article here or there that may be less than idolatrous of the GOP in any vein, are the same ones who have splashed several anti dem threads, Obama the Muslim, can he get ghetto, how democrats surrendered the war,  Obama accused of plagiarism........this sort of thing all under the guise of balanced and right reason....and also by the same biased liberal media.

Calling out around the world, BULLSHIT!!!!!

Ron

When I saw the author's name I thought for sure that this was The Onion.

The media is biased to anything that will attract viewers & readers.  Sex sells.  Bad news sells.  Oversimplifying complicated issues to 5 second sound bites sells.

Just a thought....

And please consider I feel the Senator McCain's positions concerning legalizing criminal workers, giving amnesty to their employers, and his campaign funding Bill disqualify him for consideration for my vote.

The subject and point of this article is to reflect the lack of integrity of John McCain.

Were the general population informed it should point to the integrity of the source.

NEW YORK TIMES - Published: January 25, 2008
Primary Choices: John McCain
quote:

We have strong disagreements with all the Republicans running for president. The leading candidates have no plan for getting American troops out of Iraq. They are too wedded to discredited economic theories and unwilling even now to break with the legacy of President Bush. We disagree with them strongly on what makes a good Supreme Court justice.
Still, there is a choice to be made, and it is an easy one. Senator John McCain of Arizona is the only Republican who promises to end the George Bush style of governing from and on behalf of a small, angry fringe. With a record of working across the aisle to develop sound bipartisan legislation, he would offer a choice to a broader range of Americans than the rest of the Republican field. Unless you believe this current story, referencing information 8 years old, was not know by the editorial staff who 'endorsed' him only 28 days ago, you can not trust ANY information coming from New York Times is without political agenda.

quote:

"This story was no exception. It was a long time in the works. It reached my desk late Tuesday afternoon. After a final edit and a routine check by our lawyers, we published it."  Source: http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003713800

Edited to add, with emphasis, the New York Times response to the backlash criticism. Of course none of their media brethren pointed to the incongruity of the endorsement in the face of this story in the works; "a long time...".

The era of print news is waning. Stories like this speed up its well deserved demise.

MrRodgers -> RE: Well that was quicker than I thought.... (2/21/2008 1:19:17 PM)

The media is constantly in search of numbers. The numbers are on the left and the middle...not the right.

Wait until summer or fall and the blogoworld and the 'liberal media' will be vitally necessary when the repubs try to suggest that just maybe our Obama is a relative of the other Obama...or if not him than the other Hussein.

He might even be accused of over charging his friends for drugs back in the day (they'll have 1/2 the country believeing he did sell drugs)  and thus may actually be, dare I say...a capitalist.

Like all of the vitriol toward Edwards for his being a self-made millionaire as a trial lawyer and his $400 haircut. I mean just what did he think he was...a republican or worse...a capitalist ?

All of a sudden the liberal media decides to start smearing McCain....

You just woke up? Where have you been? NYT puts out an article...It seems like it may not be true. We will see.

One thing I will tell you, true or not, this was an opportunity for McCain to shine....Be bigger than life, get animated, show the world how apalled you are at someone smearing not only yourself but the even the suggestion of inappropriate relationship with a lobbyist is disgusting...He came across as a pud and lifeless in the early and initial rebuttal to the report that I saw this morning.

It's a shame. There is a huge divide in this country...Politically speaking. We deserve better. Hopefully The big O will win.

popeye1250 -> RE: Well that was quicker than I thought.... (2/21/2008 1:39:24 PM)

Who wrote the story, "Jason Blair?"
And the L.A. Times endorsed McCain three weeks ago. lolol

Zensee -> RE: Well that was quicker than I thought.... (2/21/2008 1:53:36 PM)

Yeah, that damned liberal media, because we all know the conservative media never engages in such scurrilous tactics.

Z.

PS: Oops. That was a typical, left wing hit and run attack wasn't it. My bad.

Zensee, like another poster said, I don't have a dog in this fight.
I couldn't care less about "left or right" "liberal or conservative" with my political views.
The N.Y. Times has been going downhill for years now.
They've become infamous for "putting their editorials on the front page and calling them News."
Reporters making up "News stories."
They deserve to go bankrupt.
They've become a bad joke.
