mnottertail -> The Grand Old Party is floundering!!!! (2/18/2008 10:10:45 AM)

McCain gets an endorsement from old man Bush, and at this affair, promises no new taxes.....yeah, this came out of his fucking mouth...

Who the fuck are this guy's handlers, and why didn't the RNC assassinate him on the spot for fuckheadedness?

(I do not believe that he uttered the phrase, 'Read my lips'.  But talk about a feast.)

Talking Head

( am interested in knowing of any max headroom memorabilia you have for sale)

LOLOL,

no apologists at all, is it that bad in the GOP?  Everyone walk out like they did in congress here or what?

We are now focused on how fucked the dems are because there is nothing in the last 8 years of the GOP of any value?

I thought so.

Ron, this is what happens when politicians think that "they" know better than "The People."
They just don't get the fact that "they" are not the "Management" they are the "hired help."
There is a HUGE inability in Washington to ***L-I-S-T-E-N*** to "The People."

Whaddya want, Ron?  The GOP is going to run McCain right by the playbook, and hope the Dems step on their own dicks.  It could happen.  Bringing out the last President and telling the same old lies is in the playbook.

It was a fair plan, on paper.  McCain would be sorta acceptable to a lot of the middle of the roaders.  Hillary would handle motivating the harder edges of the party to come out and vote for him.  If Barry gets the Dem nod, the GOP will be screwed.  I actually caught a little thing on the news about McCain mocking "hope."  VERY dumb.

Without Hillary to rile up the base, they'd have to make a decision about Huckabee.  His name on the ticket might stir the Fundy's, but how many moderates will desert?  They'll have lost my vote before the balloons drop.

mnottertail -> RE: The Grand Old Party is floundering!!!! (2/18/2008 5:14:18 PM)

well, he has as much associated himself with the Bush lie, and said he will raise taxes.

I saw it on fuckin' TV, Rich. That makes it true. McCain said he will raise taxes.

I just told you what is gonna be playing for the Duflus Driving Tank advert and it is gonna be a sampling of both statements with a chorus of read my lips?  What is the GOP gonna roll with for their 527 money?

LOL. This is a cakewalk. Who the fuck is in charge over there? Don't tell me that current Bush is the only big head they got?

I don't like McCain and Bush Sr. endorsing him makes me like him even less.

MichiganHeadmast -> RE: The Grand Old Party is floundering!!!! (2/18/2008 6:27:47 PM)

I'm pretty sure what he said was, "No nude taxes."

I can get on board with that.

sharainks -> RE: The Grand Old Party is floundering!!!! (2/18/2008 6:32:00 PM)

Might as well have nude taxes we danged sure get taxed on everything else under the sun.  My home state has an "intangibles tax."  One of the definitions of intangible the last time I looked was "something without value."

Maybe we should tax pubic hair?  How about snot?

Dont worry...

Nothing in the world will bring the GOP back together better than a Clinton back in the White House or a pinko-commie like Obama.

Feric -> RE: The Grand Old Party is floundering!!!! (2/18/2008 7:01:33 PM)

The core issues on which the GOP has always run (limited gov't, low taxes, high moral standards) just don't ring true anymore. For the twelve years in which the GOP was in control of Congress there was a complete breakdown in civility and bipartisan legislative process. Republicans came into Congress ringing the mission bell and promising revolutionary changes. But far from ending an imperial Congress, Republicans centralized power in their leadership to an unprecedented level, and then ceded most of their authority as an independent branch of government to the Bush Administration. For almost six years the GOP-led congress was a rubber stamp for bush's policies, while they pushed budgets laden with pork for their respective districts. From bridges to nowhere, to money laundering for gerrymandered districts, to Mark Foley's sexual escapades, it became overwhelmingly clear that the GOP just cared about staying in power irregardless of the cost.

Americans don't like truth-tellers, but they hate hypocrites more.
