Must a Dom or Domme' "love" a slave to own her, to call this person "theirs"? to use and keep, to do as he or she pleases? Opinions please.....Yours in Kink...MB

No, and neither must she love him. However the relationship is deeper if you don't protect yourself emotionally. IMO.

There IS no "must do" in this life choice. Two people do whatever those two people agree on doing and what is right for them.

Daddy loves me, i love him. he calls me his lil girl slave. and i am only too happy to be his. but that's the way our particular relationship works, and we are happy with it. kitten

No. I have a dishwasher that I own that works for me, I keep and use, but I don't love it.

There was a slave on CM a couple of years ago (Veronica, I do miss hiim so) who would have hated this question. He used to say he wasn't owned to be loved. In fact his Owner did not love him and he liked it that way. Not every D/s or M/s dynamic has to involve love. I think that a certain amount of caring must be in place, but love? No. But that's just me.. MoGa

The only Musts are left up to the individuals involved. You have the freedom to have either Love involved or not have it. Not to mention there are multiple types of Love as well.

[;)] That can certainly skew the definition, since by strict definition 'love' and 'ownership' are not mutually inclusive. I've known many a female sub who wants 'only One Master' and wants in return to be 'His only sub'... That's commitment, of course, not love, which is only one alternate form of commitment. The concept's still there, though, if you squint.

i believe that in this lifestyle, it is much like in the vanilla world, there are very different dynamics in any two relationships. Do i believe that love is necessary? No. Is it what A/all are looking for? No. What matters most to me, is finding that other person that is looking for the same things and willing to work towards the goals set in the relationship. Could i ever be owned by One that doesn't love me? Yes, i have been. Do i want to be again? Well....lol...Like i said, what matters is what is right for the relationship involved. Hope my two cents has been worth something. :)

Individuals have personal musts, but a "must love" across the board? No Would i want to be owned if i was not loved? No. That is simply how i am. Some do not wish to love their slave or Owner. What works for them and their dynamic is the only must that matters.

What's love got to do with it? Two people enjoy being with each other...thats a great start and that's all that matters. Similar to the 'vanilla' where you can be seeing someone and consider them your g/f..b/f...f/b whatever and not love them and you'd still refer to them as such (perhaps when it suits you?)...by you ...I dont mean it literally
