I am all for getting everyone out to vote.  But it amazes me as to how being a great & electrifying speaker for the masses equates in people's minds with being a good leader.  Kind of reminds me of an old time snake oil salesman, but that is just me.

I heard a true story recently of a man who became a doctor in the US in the 1800's.  He was a great speaker & had a way about him that made people believe in him & what he said.  He implanted goat testies into many men at quite a financial cost. It wasn't a transplant procedure as we think of it today.  He would just open their sacks & place the goat testes in it.  Men flocked to him & gladly laid out their money to him.   Unfortunately, while some lived, many of them died of complications caused from infections.  The man actually ran for the US Senate.

Either way, it is nice to see people caring enough to go out & vote this time around.

I have to admit if Hillary gets the nod Im going to have to vote for the other guy. I am to much on the fence between both parties on their issues I like and hate their stands on certain issues equally. I am registered as a republican but have voted the other side a couple of times. Obama gets the nod he gets my vote. Hillary gets the nod well I guess Im going to have to go the other way.

I agree, there seems to be a high degree of interest this election cycle.

I'm a Dem that's voted Republican (and Libertarian, and Green) on occasion; I just want the best person to win.... and I wish I could fine one that I really believed in.

The problem is and has been for way to long that we are all picking from the lesser of two evils. I would love to see an independent run again. I voted for perot the first time he ran. Because I honestly thought as crazy as he was that he was a better candidate. One of the problems with the political arena is that it really is closed off to any but a wealthy independant candidate. Show me a good race with real people for once. Not these old washed out politicians.

I have been voting every year since I was 18.
I remember the first time I voted, I thought I am an adult!

If it takes getting someone "electrifying" to make people get out to vote, I say "So be it".
Maybe they will get the voting "bug", once you get used to voting, you
tend to want to do it, regardless.

I love to see more people voting, no matter what it takes.
I am on my way out to vote, now.

Obama wins Virginia:

WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama won the Virginia primary Tuesday night and reached out for victories in nearby Maryland and the District of Columbia, determined to erode or even erase Hillary Rodham Clinton's delegate lead in the Democratic presidential race.

Yeahhhhhhhhh!
I wanted to update this, it looks like Obama, Obama, and Obama.

The people are certainly speaking, this really is a new day.
I am glad I am alive to see it.

**McCain won also I believe in all 3 states.**

It's going to be an interesting election to be sure.   I was surprised to see Huckabee and McCain running so close together in VA.
