In the interest of creativity and sharing knowledge I'm throwing down the gauntlet to all who wish to share their favorite music to scene to.

However, because

Just posting song titles doesn't help if you don't know the song.
Anyone can just say "Anything by X"
Variety is the essence of life.

I have decided to use finetune.com as an excellent and free resource with a hugely diverse song base. You can create a completely free and playable songlist provided that:

You choose at least 45 song titles.
No more than 3 per artist.

I will start it off by sharing my effort. In my defense - it was put together at short notice, but I'm not unhappy with it (and neither was she the other day *grin*)

I realize that many of the more obsure titles may not be available (but you may be pleasantly surprised) - feel free to add those onto your entry as a "Wish list"

If you wish to submit your collection, (or tender your collection if you never submit to anything. Sorry, for those who are never tender, you'll have to figure something else out), post a reply with the link to your compilation, and any who wish to judge the submitted content may rate them from 1 - (I'd rather scene to Elevator Music) to 10 (Subspace City, baby) - positive critique is encouraged to avoid it being a slag-fest.

What's great about Finetune is that you can get a quick 30 second sample, or just push play and listen to the whole play list.

Hopefully this might give some inspiration to those who don't often choose to scene to music.

Ok, you’re asking for suggestions, so here it goes.
Narrow your music selection for one play list. It might be hard on your bottom's head space and your own if the stereo goes from Genesis to Madonna to Massive Attack to Marilyn Manson. Pick a general mood and run with it so you can build on an emotional base for the whole scene or at least set a consistent back drop so you don't have to step back and reassess because the stereo just went from Enya to Rob Zombie.

I usually use a good foundation of Trance and hard house or Industrial rock and Metal. Sometimes I mix the two when temp and mood are appropriate. For example I find that The Crystal Method goes well with some Prodigy, and remixes of Ramstien and White Zombie. Other DJ's/Groups I like for play music are DJ Sasha, Victor Calderone, Dead can dance, Trance Global Underground, Tool, A Perfect Circle, NIN, and some classical by Beethoven and Rachmaninoff. I think Massive attack and Marilyn Manson are good choices for play music.
