newlychaste -> Financial Domination: Solved (2/7/2008 6:38:16 AM)

I may have solved the "Financial Domination" conundrum. And maybe some others.

There's an "interest search" function on Collarme. Why not just change the terms of service to, "financial domination encouraged--just list it as an interest," and include a NOT function on the interest search?  If I could narrow my snooping to only people that weren't interested in dominating my wallet--which I make it a point to keep empty, in case anyone asks--I might actually be able to browse profiles that might interest me. :)  And it will make it easy for "money piglets" to find their wallet rapists a little easier.

(Incidentally, this isn't intended to reopen the "is a financial Domme really a Domme at all? Well, yes, she provides a useful service to men and women that need this or that, blah blah blah" debate, it's being a pet peeve of mine nonwithstanding.)

How much did she take you for?

newlychaste -> RE: Financial Domination: Solved (2/7/2008 7:17:31 AM)

*Laughs*
"Hearts are not had as gifts, but hearts are earned by those which are not entirely beautiful" - Emerson.  I'm not sure I could take a "financial domme" seriously on any level--let alone serving her seriously--and having to hide every one I find is really a pain.

Sex sells, so I suppose it's a valid enough business. And an old business. Ahem. But that's not really any of my business, now is it?

It won't solve anything. The problem is not with those that are "financial dommes" and have it as a kink; the problem is with those that position themselves as seeking a relationship, then after starting correspondence, state that they need a tribute in order to continue.  This is often a scam (and men are just as likely to do it with a fake profile) and nothing else, so of course they won't classify themselves properly. What needs to happen is the market needs to dry up. Why not campaign your "sub brothers" and encourage them to stop sending tributes to fantasy women they have never met or talked to on the phone?

There needs to be some sort of escrow/validation service for these types of transactions. Lots of people know much more about that than me, but it seems like the path that should be taken. But if you are going to give someone money with an expectation of consideration, is it a sign of initial mistrust to use an escrow service?
It's a conundrum that's to be sure.

It's more fun to hunt them down and kick them off for tos abuse.

Why make a filter for something that isn't even allowed here?

Asking for tribute is not a kink that is accepted here. Same as pedophilia, bestiality.,or snuff.

*It's against the rules*

Why do people keep trying to justify something that the site tells you is NOT allowed here?

Asking for money is against the rules. Tribute does not always equal money.

Leatherist -> RE: Financial Domination: Solved (2/7/2008 10:56:34 AM)

True, gifts are allowed But most are just after the money. And in clear breach of tos.

I just find it annoying that these women are even on the site. Talk about cheapskates, they won't even pay for thier own websites-and they call subs pikers.

AquaticSub -> RE: Financial Domination: Solved (2/7/2008 11:00:54 AM)

There are some only after money, but oh well. Some guys are only after sex - should we ban them because they might tell a woman that they want a relationship?

As long as CM can't be targeted for promoting prostitution they're not likely to be booted off for TOS abuse...as someone else said, the TOS prohibits asking for money, in so many words/figures. Wanting "tribute," is another story.

Oui, I've been wanting a very large, perfectly coloured, salmon tourmaline.......set in 18K yellow gold with some small tsavorite garnets and diamonds scattered about perhaps.

They can be booted off for a set number of abuse reports. All it takes is enough annoyed people, and they are gone.

And since it's a free site with no background checks, they just make a new name.

No point in getting annoyed.

SimplyMichael -> RE: Financial Domination: Solved (2/7/2008 11:16:29 AM)

I think prostitution is a noble service and so I have no problem with pro-dommes.  However, this isn't the place for prostitution and if it was up to me, anyone who asks for money/tribute/whatever codeword should be run off the site.  Lucky for them, it would be a cold day in hell before they let me run this site.

There is a sucker born every minute, just look at the Republican party!

That sounds FAB!  I am interested in a nice cognac diamond, myself....with some white accent stones.  Nothing gaudy.

HypnoticDan -> RE: Financial Domination: Solved (2/7/2008 11:48:58 AM)

I use another (unrelated) site that let's you review other users and everyone can read those reviews.  Why don't dating sites do this?  then you'd know what that person's reputation is like.
