It seems that people who say this in their profile are not always trueful. "...if you are interested in knowing more about me, ask." I have talked to a few people that had this in their profile and not a single one responed back. I guess what I'm saying is that too many people on here expect too much.

a lot of people say this because they are to lazy to fill thier profile out properly, that to me speaks volumes. I mean seriously if they cant spend a few minutes writing a basic intro then then I would question how serious they are

If it is added to the end of an already well written profile well that is a different story

People do not take the time to think and plan out what they truly want to accomplish and the realistic amount of effort required to accomplish a task of finding someone for a long term relationship.

They instead internalize their thoughts into about them and make human nature justifications out of laziness, ego and self esteem. I think lazy leads the way but there are a lot a lot on the other side that ego and self esteem gets in the way as well. I think the wording and lack of effort is an internal defense mechanism because if they truly put themselves out there and do not get any interest then they cannot handle that type of rejection.

The fact is everyone regardless of role and gender is selling themselves in their profile and messages. A good salesman is like anyone else who is usually successful in that it takes effort and understanding of the people you are trying to connect with and not just selfish behavior justified.

yes, I have seen short profiles like that. Good point, it is lazy now that I think of it. Not many have interesting profiles and seeing that comment is the last thing I would consider using to initiate conversation.

Or, perhaps, they simply don't like they way you do the asking. It's impossible to know what goes on in other people's minds. Hitch up your belt and move on to the next.

I have a short profile. Primarily because I am not here to meet anyone. I have met a few good friends...but that's it.
Pretty much they do ask when they want to know more..and yes they get any answer they want.
