My bdsm exchanges have always been just the correct amount of high i require and enjoy , why muddle it with toxins .I would much rather be intoxicated with the presence of a Domme VS any other substance . On the other side of who i am , if I am Topping No way would i even have a glass of wine prior to an exchange .Now after its all said and done sure , wine or a boat drink or two is a wonderful relaxing thing .

Playing while intoxicated is NEVER a good idea. As anyone that knows Me is well aware, I am a pot smoker, but I would NEVER do any kind of play while stoned, NEVER. If I am just getting a massage or something along that lines I will at times, but never before play.

The times we have played when we have had a drink its been sexual play no ropes or bondage just verbal demands and commands. I know my limits when Ive had a beer 1 and I am ok to play two and I would have to really question my abilities. Ive played when ive smoked a joint and again its only been light silly play. I love my boy too much to try and do a full on session while pissed or stoned to the point im talking too much bollocks lol.

It's not a bad thing persay, you have to weigh up the situation with the person who is intoxicated. After all, many people will have a drink or two and still drive. I do not see BDSM as any different. Just use your common sense - after all some people get a high from too much caffine and are just as likely to cause injury to someone who has had a drink or two. And as said before, depending on the play involved, drink may not even be an issue. If there is no bondage or pain giving/getting involved and it's simply a role play scene - it's not really going to be any different to any other activity. People tend to have a downer on 'drugs n wiitwd - but it's more morality policing than common sense. Drinking isn't the issue, it is how the person is under the influence or any product that counts and whether you are aware of the risks and issue involved. the.dark.

I agree, there are too many variables, what kind of play? Who is involved? How "intoxicated". Like almost everything else, there is no one correct answer for everybody Jeff

i think it is a very bad idea. first off would you drive your car while intoxicated knowing it slows your reflexes and coordination? it is the same in bdsm on any level. it may loosen your inhibitions but there are other ways to go about that. to echo an old phrase, Safe,Sane,Consentual. keep it safe and keep your head clear,if anyone wants you to do so drunk,walk away.

Generally, I don't think the top should be intoxicated, ever. It can be enormous fun to play with a bottom who has had a few too many, but it helps to know how that person will react under normal circumstances, so there is some kind of comparison---and a new set of buttons to push! Our basic party rule is that alcohol, drugs, and play are not a combination.

i personally wouldn't play after a few rounds, but i do attend parties where people drink, socialize, then play. Call me unsafe, flame me for being dumb, but i have actually partaken of a drink or two then enjoyed hours of playtime. It is a risk, i am aware it is a risk, and i consent to engage in playtime despite the risk. i would never play if i were actually impaired, but i do not consider being a bit giggly and floaty after one or two drinks as so impaired as to be totally unaware of my surroundings and what is happening to my body. Eh, to each their own, whatever works for you, GREAT! Not going to put someone down for not drinking and playing, neither will i put someone down for having a drink or two in moderation before playing.

It really depends on what we are doing. I find blanket statements like....well...most of the one above....to never be very truthful or honest. How many people would carry the same safety stigmata to drunken sex? Anyone have any intoxicated "penis in the eye" injury statistical reports? If I can safely guide a penis into an open mouth without poking out someone's eye, won't it be safe to assume I can successful deliver a hand to the ass?

i don't drink at all if i know i'm gonna be playing cos i get drunk very quickly and tipsy after one drink, so im not prepared to take a risk. also im unwilling to play with someone if they have been drinking either. thats jst me though and thats cos a close Dom friend hammered home wen i first met him the importance of always being aware of wots going on. that being said another D/s couple that are friends of mine regularly play whilst high on all sorts of drugs, and live for it, not for me but they seem to enjoy it.

I am legally perscribed amphetimes, also known as speed...so is that "intoxicated" When I drank heavily, I could down a pitcher of beer, get on a motorcycle and then go "drinking" so at what point was I "intoxicated"? Some people are quite unsafe sober, others are on anti-depressants, others are mentally retarded in some way but we don't whine and snivel about them. The ban on alcohol came about for the same reason some groups ban hugging. It is easier to "just say no" than to deal with individuals. Just like "don't flog the kidneys" is a mantra for some and others realize that there are safe levels and unsafe levels to do so. However, to make life easy for a DM we ban sex, alcohol, loud play, fun, intensity, ad naseum. I understand people who embrace the concept, I feel the same way about gun play, I could do it (but I would never) safely but I would never stay at an event where it was going on. Overreaction rarely gets people killed...
