I know this is an pet peeve, but sometimes I just _have_ to vent some frustrations regarding the collarme search functions.
First of all, I'd like to state that this is not an blacklisting rant. ( Well, mostly not. [8|] )
I do hope other people have noticed that there are profiles that scream fake/fraud where certain countries &/or cities tend to crop up.
Say certain African countries and cities? ^_^
I'm not going to claim that everyone from these countries/areas are dishonest, so no racism remarks please. [;)]
But I am going to claim that most of the profiles are so inane and childish that to fall for even one of these would be an act of darwinism. ^_^
My pet peeve is not wheter some admin/op should filter these out, because that _would_ be unreasonable, but what I do miss is an possibility to _exclude_ certain countries and/or areas from an profile search.
Besides this would be an feature that have other uses.
For example in my case as an European I might just wish to limit my searches to the US and Europe. Or maybe I'd like to search all the European countries in a single search?
When doing an US search it's possible to filter by states, but when doing searches in say Europe, Asia or Africa the only possibility is to make separate searches for each country. (Of course, as an website with mainly US users there is certainly acceptable to have an bias towards the States.)
But stil, if the country pulldownlist was selectable with ctrl/shift-click it would greatly improve the search experience without cluttering the webpage. And it would allow users to exclude (purely hypoteticaly of course) countries like Nigeria. [;)]
On the other hand, am I the only on that miss such an feature? And do someone have objections that they feel should be considered?
