SlaveRayleene -> RE: sub/slave/property (2/1/2008 1:16:19 PM)

Lost my Master recently but his ownership doesn't end there. Though he can no longer be mine, I am his and will be forever. My slave registry number will never be transferred to another and his collar remains. He put it on me in a ceremony and only he can take it off. I was his sub/slave.....I am still his owned property.

I have no problem being called His property as long as I'm treasured human property and treated as such, but in my relationship it will be two-fold. I am his but he is mine as well.

Personally, I think the reason people try to label or categorize it has more to do with wanting to be able to find what they're looking for easily.  They are looking for something specific, and having a set deffinition for what that is and isn't makes it easier to find.  Ex.  "I want a slave because I want a deeper level of control." etc.  Kind of like having a filing system, or the dewey decimal system at the library.

If only things were as simple in real life as they are as concepts, on paper.

I can say that currently, I see myself as submissive with the possibility of moving more toward a slave (as to me, that means him having a greater level of control over me) once we both have more expierence.  I am owned.  I love it ^.^

Edit:  There are slave registry numbers?  I've never heard of those before.

The more I research and learn more about this idea, the more I feel as though his "ownership" of me is the purest form of his love and protection for me.  I have given myself to him because it is what I need and want.  So his responsibility is to protect me by his ownership of me.

How did you research? I did some research myself to find out the difference and I know I am a slave type... But without a Dom currently in my life, I cannot answer the original question...

I don't know if I could be "owned" though... if it was a 24/7 ltr and monogamous... but then... (yeah, I know, there I go Vanilla again) I guess it would depend...

anyway, I was extremely curious what kind of research you did... contact me off board? thanks

Rayleene, your signature is beautiful.  My condolences for your loss.

There is a slave Registry and not all slaves are registered there .. but many that follow a more trational or old school " way" and Im not saying that is the ONE or ONLY true way ... only that it is " a " way  do register their slaves there.

Without getting into the drama, I don't actually see anything judgemental in this paticular OP and it's wording.  In fact, it's quite neutral and allows for varying opinions/roles, etc.  I think it's well-written taken.

To answer the OP, not all s types are owned or property, however, I've seen some s types that were completely devoted and in TPE type situations (whether they called it that or not) and seen some "owned" s types that weren't as open to being controlled.  That's not to suggest that I believe everyone should be open to it.  It's a matter of preference, personality and relationship structure.  Nor do I believe one should jump into such a level (yeah yeah the word actually isn't evil).  Attempting to be something you are not is only setting the relationship or dynamic up for failure and suggesting one is greater than the other doesn't take that into account.  One may be greater than the other for an individual, however.  This is also my problem with labels and that we make assumptions about them that are often not true for individuals.

Personally when I am in an s type situation I could care less what I am called as long as I am with someone that I am with compatible that I care about that who understands and cares for me and not just as a role.
