What's disgusting is the way some of the same folks who wail about swiftboating will embrace some of this crap.

What turned me away from the Dems was the willingness to make hate the highest value, and chuck all the ones I once thought made me a liberal.

It's not about his military service.

He voted for Amnesty for illegal aliens against the wishes of more than 90% of the American People.
He stabbed his party in the back and he stabbed The American People in the back.
He doesn't deserve our votes.

Alumbrado -> RE: Poll: McCain would beat Hillary and Obama (2/1/2008 12:11:48 AM)

His party, the other party, and the American people have always been overwhelmingly in favor of getting cheap labor by any means neccessary.

Seal the border and let Pizza Hut start charging $50 per pizza because the home grown pickers have unionized and negotiated the same salary as office clerks, and see what happens.

McCain is the sacrificial lamb. They are going to let him finally get the nom, only cos they realize they are going to have to bite the bullet and take the fall this time round. The R's are wishin and praying that Hil gets in, so they can have a rallying point of hate to re-group for the mid-terms and 2012.

Classic strawman, that.

The Republicans tried this in 1996 with BOB DOLE and it didn't work out too well did it?
He was another guy just like McCain who thought it was "his turn" to be president.
If you run a Governor against a Senator for President the Governor will always win!
The only way that the Republicans can win is to nominate either Hucklbee or Romney.
When you hear Democrats saying that they're "afraid" of McCain you know that he's the one they want to be nominated because they know he'll lose!
They've been suspiciously quiet about Romney, haven't they?

popeye1250 -> RE: Poll: McCain would beat Hillary and Obama (2/1/2008 2:20:25 PM)

LOL, they just played a clip on the radio from Ann Coulter saying that she'd campaign for Hillary if Mad Dog were to be nominated!
McCain would be a *disaster* for the Republicans! lol

They know he can't win!

McCain is 72 and people want to give him The Button? My Father In-Law is 72 and we don't allow him to have the TV Remote. He still get's confused with his Bank Card when asked "Credit or Debit?" And we still have to help him program his cell phone. I hold my elders in the dearest respect but I have to admit that there comes a time when some are better off as an advisor rather than the leader.

His mom is 95, and seems pretty sharp.

Maybe he'll pick her as a VP.
