They're ok as a non-threatening stepping stool, (as in your case) or to hang from ones rearview provided the local cops don't harass you, but one should upgrade as soon as possible. One can also usually put the fur or leather liners on NIJ cuffs as well if one wants to 'dethreaten' them, so to speak.
I'm not attacking your views, but I wanted to throw out a safer alternative.
I don't believe an attack was seen or implied. Trust Me. It takes a lot more than a different path of experience to get My dander up. Since the story was much more of someone else's journey than Mine, there is no way I could have been offended. Rather, I would like to welcome you to the forums, and hope that we will most likely have good discussions.
