ORIGINAL: Owner59 George Bush, last night: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/01/20030128-19.html The other pressing challenge is immigration. America needs to secure our borders -- and with your help, my administration is taking steps to do so. We're increasing worksite enforcement, deploying fences and advanced technologies to stop illegal crossings. We've effectively ended the policy of "catch and release" at the border, and by the end of this year, we will have doubled the number of border patrol agents. Yet we also need to acknowledge that we will never fully secure our border until we create a lawful way for foreign workers to come here and support our economy. (Applause.) This will take pressure off the border and allow law enforcement to concentrate on those who mean us harm. We must also find a sensible and humane way to deal with people here illegally. Illegal immigration is complicated, but it can be resolved. And it must be resolved in a way that upholds both our laws and our highest ideals. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Btw,Popeye. There is a" En Español " botton,on the official White House website. Hey republicans, what do you think of that? Owner, do you think that George "Herbert Hoover" Bush means any of that? I don't see too many Republicans comming to his defense, probably because he's not a Republican. With 356 days to go he's a little LATE for that kind of shit, isn't he? And he keeps saying that , "they're just doing the jobs Americans don't want to do." Only he neglects to mention that those jobs are now down to $8 an hour. I'd do the job but not for $8 an hour. These days $15 an hour is subsistance level. Owner, something tells me that George "Herbert Hoover" Bush doesn't care too much about people who make $15 an hour. Am I wrong?
