OMG Seriously.  If she didn't know that ALL of California is in the same time zone as she lived in, do you SERIOUSLY think that she knew that San Diego was 300 miles east of Seattle???

Cali Magellan:
Indiana is quite a bit smaller than California and it has more than one time zone.
The whole state lies completely within the central time zone but most of the state is on eastern time...then there is daylight saving time to add to the confusion.

Thompson... I know time zones - LOL!  No geography lesson needed here.  I would think (hope!) that everyone that lives on the west coast in the contiguous US in a state that touches the Pacific Ocean knows it's in the same time zone as they are.  Just as I would think (hope again!) that everybody that lives in a state on the east coast that touches the Atlantic Ocean knows they are also in the same time zone (except for that funky little piece of Florida - they get a pass).  I'm thinking this would be a third grade question on 'Smarter than a Fifth Grader.'

Now if the person in question were indeed from somewhere in the middle of the US that might be different... but c'mon, the LEFT COAST!
