ORIGINAL: proudsub Am i right that those that don't have at least $3000 of earned income get nothing? Seems like some of them need it the most, like those on social security or living off meager investments. We have our own business and didn't take any salary last year, so does that mean we won't get any? But those who make 150K as a couple will get a check, they certainly don't need it. proud, Correct - at least in its current form. The Senate has to get a hold of it, add a like 'Pork' flavoring, and approve it. Maybe they'll include a taste for the under $3k group as a trade off for building a bridge to nowhere. Keep in mind, this is an election year. This is putting more money in the pot for the PAC's representing the $50 Billion going to Corporations; while making the incumbents appears like 'Santa Claus' once they get to campaigning back in their home districts. You think the timing of delivery is a coincidence to correspond to the peak campaigning season? Meanwhile, you may not be getting a check from 'Santa' but you'll sure be getting your statement and pay back schedule, including interest, after November. It would be appropriate if no incumbent won reelection, but apparently many people's votes can be bought for $600, or less.
