Probably like here in Canada they will use composite fillings instead, which is like durable white plastic that is matched to the tooth colour
during my pregnancy I had I not only suffered from nausea related to the pregnancy but also daily migraines so was vomiting thoughout my pregnancy so I suffered malnutrition problems such as calcium loss so I had a lot of dental problems, at that time amalgam was used now most of those filling are 25 years old(beyond normal life expectancy and as they work loose they are being replaced with composite fillings, though 2 teeth had were not sound enough to drill out more, for a filling, so the top of the tooth is remove leaving a peg in which gold crowns are seated upon , gold as a filling material is not common in North America
