Mostly a rant, but if anybody has an explanation that doesn't involve an angry god, i'm reading...

Check this out:

My wife and i have a pair of desktop computers set up side-by-side on a table in our living room. Both "towers" are plugged into an Uninterruptable Power Supply (battery backup). My monitor is also plugged into this UPS. The peripherals for my PC, as well as the router, are plugged into a surge suppressor, which shares an outlet with the UPS. Her monitor and peripherals are all plugged into another surge suppressor, plugged into another outlet a few feet down the wall (undoubtably on the same circuit).

Three weeks ago, the router stopped responding; i came home from work to find it dead. i power-cycled it, tested cables, etc.- it was toast. Fair enough. i'd had the thing a few years, and couldn't even guess how many times the cats had pulled it off the desk. Bought a new one.

Less than a week later, my desktop shut itself down while i was folding laundry in another room. It would power back up, but with no display. Swapped monitors, video cards, power supplies... nope, the friggin' motherboard died. Well, that sucks. It was about a year and a half old, so it really shouldn't have, but it did act flaky from time to time.

i went away for a week, and started using my wife's computer while she's out of town. So, about three weeks later. And the goddamned monitor on her computer dies overnight!!! THAT was probably only a year old (can't tell for sure, because the receipt is on my computer, which is still dead).

So, three different types of hardware, all "protected" by different power devices, all dying at different times of the day within a three week period!

i don't know if i should start throwing the main breaker when i leave for work, or wrap the whole house in tinfoil [:o]

*grumble*

Could be humidity.  While the air itself doesn't tend to hold much in these cold months, it can still release the bit it has when over saturated in going from a hot, humid environement (such as if you've taken a hot shower nearby) to a colder one.  Or static, if animals tend to rub their fur against the computer and so.  (I have no precident for the "static" idea, just a vague guess.  Humidity seems more far more likely of the two.)

You need to see a psychic and get your Chakras adjusted.  Either you or your wife are generating a new and problematic energy field which is damaging your electronic equipment.  Could be a sign of illness or mental issues.  Do you have any plants in your home?  For 500$ I will adjust both of you on line, it should solve all your problems....

Don't do it!  luckydog's trying to rip you off!

Although, he's sorta right about the bad Chakras.  Such phenomnia often result from misaligned ley lines that occur naturally in the Earth, or perhaps manevolent spirits nearby.  Also, if you did something bad lately.. you know what I'm talking about.. that one thing you do.. you and I know what I'm saying.. yeah, that can seriously screw up your karama.

As a solution, I suggest you buy my crystals.  They neutralize bad karama and emit positive energy auras.  I have different varities, depending on if you want enchanced healing, insight, focus, or general well being.  Since I feel for you, I'll charge you a nominal $650 for the Spirital Starting Package, which includes two of each!!  Act quickly, before demand forces the price up!

i might buy the humidity if this had happened during the summer... around here in August you practically need to shovel the air into your mouth with a spoon to breathe. January is actually pretty nice.

My karmas seem okay at the moment (unlike last August, when i had two catastrophic engine failures in a week)... maybe my cats have just upset the dogmas somehow?

No his Crystals are garbage....I can do a Cyber excorcism for you for only 400...But you dont get the benefit of Charkra alignmnet.  Seriously would you buy Crystals from an Athiest?  Now if you want complicated math done CL is your guy.
