You shouldn't wash your hair for about a week following a perm. Doing so almost guarantees it will fall quickly.
Also, a spiral curl perm (takes longer and is more expensive) not only looks more natural, but also has held up better for me.
A bit of a trim might help if all else fails.

I'm currently in school for cosmetology, and lucky you, we just started on perms this week (not so lucky me, those things stink!).  Several questions...how long is your hair currently, does it have any layers, what color rollers did the stylist use, and what type of perm solution?  Any and all of these things can affect the outcome.  And as has been said, it will relax in its first week, and if it continues to relax much more from there on, call the person who did it because something probably went wrong.
